Airport to Disney - Cheapest Non ME Way?

In March I'm gong to be flying down to Orlando to meet up with my family who will be on their last day of vacation at Disney. I'll be coming in early, and would prefer to just meet them at their resort so we can all enjoy the day at Disney before hitting the road of southern Florida.

I won't have a resort reservation so I can't use ME to get there. I looked into the Mears shuttle online, but when I tell them I'm heading to a Disney resort they tell me to just use ME.

Anyone have any ideas on an inexpensive method to get from the airport to the parks. I'll be traveling alone so I won't be sharing the costs with anyone. Will a taxi be my best bet?

When you get to MCO, go down to level 1...ground transportation. Head to the Mears counter. You will be able to book a ride on their shuttles then. You can't book it in advance though...not if you are going to a WDW owned resort. That's the problem you're having. In fact, they may actually put you on a DME bus to the resort, but you will have to pay for it. That fee should be about $19 or so.

The cheapest way would be to get the Lynx bus to Downtown Disney then get Disney transporation to the resort. Bus number 111 takes about 50 minutes and costs $2. This will only work if you have no luggage as you can't take luggage on the Disney buses. The second cheapest would be to take the Lynx bus then a taxi from DTD to the resort, which I think would be cheaper than Mears from the airport.

Thanks for the advice. It was driving me nuts! I really wanted to keep the expense under $25 or so. I'll have at least my small wheeled carry-on bag so I'll have to plan accordingly. I'm just glad it's not going to run me $50.
