I've tried finding this in previous post, but can't seem to find a clear answer about if "in-terminal" rental car sites means the ones you can walk to or if it means those and the ones you have to bus to. What I really want is the names of the agencies that you can walk across the street and pick up your car. I don't want to have to take a bus to pick up the car. I've used Budget in the past but I'm not getting a good rate from them this time around so I'm looking at the others.

Thanks!

I looked there, but it's still not real clear which ones you need a bus for. There used to be something on the DIS that was real clear about which ones require a bus trip but I can't find it anywhere.

How is it not clear, the first section on the rental car section states:

Rental Cars
Orlando is the largest rental car market in the world, with most of the major car rental companies located on-airport, without the need for a shuttle bus to pick up your rental car. The rental car companies are located in Terminal A and Terminal B on the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1).

The agencies are than listed afterwords:

  • Advantage Rent A Car
  • Alamo
  • Avis
  • Budget
  • Dollar Car Rental
  • Enterprise Rent-A-Car
  • E-Z Rent A Car
  • Hertz Car Rental
  • L and M Car Rental
  • National
  • Thrifty

It is not clear because it says most of them, but does not state which ones.

Sure, all of the rental desks are in the terminals, but which ones make you ride a bus to the lot. I'm pretty sure the last time I rented from Alamo (which is on the list), that I had to take a bus. That was a about 6-8 years ago. Maybe that has changed since then. I sure hope so since that's who I'm getting the better rate from :)

Alamo is onsite- you check in at the desk (down towards the end) and then walk out to the garage to get your car.

If you read the entire page, it further lists specifically which agencies offer a free shuttle as well.

The first group, is intented to reflect on site, no shuttle agencies, the second after the statement of those requiring a free shuttle are those that may have a kiosk/counter, but require a shuttle to pick-up.

I still believe their site is pretty easy to understand or interpret what is "on-site" with no shuttle.
