I was thinking of using Priceline or Hotwire as others have mentioned for our first night in Orlando. We are landing at Orlando around 10pm and I was just wondering how long it would take by the time we get our luggage, catch the shuttle and arrive at one of the airport hotels. I am wondering if it would be better to just book the Hyatt and pay the extra money;unless it really isn't a hassle with booking another airport hotel. I have my son who is 9 and my mom who could get the senior citizen rate at the Hyatt about 99.00 for the night.

Hi, if you decide to use Priceline bid for a 3 star hotel the majority of these hotels have shuttles. We are going to WDW after our cruise, but we are arriving a couple days prior to cruising just to relax. We are having a late arrival at MCO and I bid $33 for a 3 star through priceline and received the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel and it does have a shuttle. Stayed there last year for another precruise stay and arrived at MCO at 10:30pm. We called for the shuttle and it arrived within 20 minutes. The driver was very pleasant and helpful. I was very happy to receive this hotel again this year. Hope this helps.

Maybe out luck has been good...but we have stayed at the Holiday Inn Select, Marriot and Renaissence by the airport (all thru Priceline) and have never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes for the shuttle (always with late night arrivals), we got the HI Select again for this Nov....hope our luck holds and we don't have to wait long.

I always go to the courtesy phone and call as soon as the luggage starts appearing on the carousel for our flight and usually it is just a couple of minutes after everyones stuff comes the van arrives.

I am in the same situation and want to arrive a day before. I have never used priceline. Any good sites that have info about priceline or is it pretty straight forward?

There are two websites that I would recommend to find detailed information on Priceline. 1) Biddingfortravel.com and 2) Betterbidding.com. Both sites discuss Priceline and winning bids received by others. Site #2 also discusses in detail Hotwire.com.
I prefer using Priceline because it saves a few more dollars over Hotwire.
