2 questions.....

1) When checking in online, do you still need to check in at the kiosk at the airport? If doing carry on only, do you need to check in at the kiosk if checking in online?

2) Do you print your boarding passes at home? Have them on your phone? If on phone, how easy is it to use?

In the past, I have printed boarding passes at home, only to get to the airport and have them reprinted by curbside or needing to use the kiosk to pay for luggage, printing them at that point. So, now I do not print them until the airport. However, haven’t yet taken the step to have them on my phone.

1. No.
2. Either way. It's easy either way.

No.

Easy. I have an iPhone so I save the boarding pass to my Wallet, and that lets me bring it up even if I can’t get internet connection for some reason.

You can also take a screenshot (if you don’t know how, google it for your specific phone) to have it available in case there’s no internet.

I’ve only had that offered as a courtesy, never an absolute, fwiw.

Thanks. When checking bags, can you pay the bag fee at the counter? We’ve always paid at the kiosk. Our next trip, we are flying first class but looking for down the road.

I prefer to have my boarding pass on paper rather than just on my phone. I find that going through security feels something like this:
wait... wait... wait... wait... show ID and boarding pass... Now GO GO GO! PUT AWAY ID! PUT AWAY BOARDING PASS! TAKE OFF SHOES! PUT ZIPLOC BAG IN PLASTIC BIN! GO GO GO! FASTER! FASTER! THERE ARE PEOPLE WAITING BEHIND YOU! HURRY UP!

I would rather have my phone safely in my bag the whole time, rather than having it out to show the boarding pass.

(And yes, I tried to sign up for Pre-check to avoid some of this. After waiting two hours in the Manhattan office and still having many people ahead of me, I gave up. My flights are always too early or too late to sign up in the Precheck office at the airport.)

I'm with you. Waited at MCO last week behind someone who's phone died. Electronic devices fail (and I love using my phone for things but TSA is one application where I'm happy to stick to paper).

If you are staying at WDW then they can print your boarding pass at the hotel or Guest Services in the parks.
