I hate to cheat the system, but I have a family of 6 ( not really relevant)- only 4 of us are staying on disney property at any given time- However- we are renting a car for 4, one DD in coming later that day but not staying as a guest in our hotel ( #5), but wants to get to our hotel first and have me drive her to the other hotel she is staying later. Here is where it gets tricky...... the last one is coming in later in the week and one is leaving at the same time. Long and very complicated story- It's like kid swapping on a ride. pirate:

Since Disney has made it impossible to book a room and allow this under one resi. we will be using the same magic band for both children. I paid for one person to go the whole trip and only one person will be using the band at a time, just not the same person. :littleangel:

Ok, the question: Can I get those people from airport to the hotel on the disney bus? I haven't used it- I have a car-
AND can I get the other one back to the airport the same way? :drive:

and YES- the hotel does give complimentary service from our hotel to and from the airport.

Ideas?:rolleyes2 No, I am not driving to the airport to get them, sorry.

you do know that when you enter a park you use your MB and scan your finger. Once the first person does the scan nobody else can use that MB.:)

If I'm understanding your situation correctly, no it won't work. Disney will give each guest one transfer from the airport and one transfer to the airport. Since your booking is for one child, that's all you get.

No, you must be listed on the resort reservation in order to ride the us.....and even then, you must have a reservation for the bus. So, lets say four of you are on the reservation...mom, dad, tommy and Sally. Annie is arriving later but staying at a different hotel, but would like to ride the bus. Then, Mary arrives 3 days later, and is not on the reservation either but is staying with you and wants to ride the bus. Then, the next day, Sally needs to leave. Man...talk about convoluted.
Options......
1. Annie pays $20 and takes Mears shuttle, which will probably be a DME bus, to your resort. Mary does the same thing, and Sally takes the Mears shuttle back to MCO...this would be the correct thing to do.

2. The females in your party of four make DME reservations, but don't use them. Then, (If there are two females in the party of four), Mary uses Moms DME ride. Sally uses the other female DME reservation. If you dont have two females I your original group of four, it won't work.

BUT.......those not listed on the room reservation won't be able to get in the parks for EMHs. And using one MB for two people? Probably not. One persons name will be associated with it. When they use it the first time, their dinger biometric will be recorded. When someone else tries to use that MB, the scanner won't take it, and that person will likely be asked for ID.

Here's the thing....people with larger families either have to book two rooms, or book a room that will accommodate that number of people. That's just the cost df doing business for larger families. If, for whatever reason, hour resort finds that you have people staying in that room, without having them on the reservation, you could be told to leave.
DME is for the express use of those listed on a resort reservation. Sorry if that doesn't work for your needs. The other thing to keep in mind, now that I've given you a possible way around the system? With MBs in use now, it may be very possible that those that have already checked in wouldn't be able to use DME to the resort.
In all reality? Use the Mears shuttle....$19 one way, $35ish r/t. Much better way to do it in the long run, especially since you seem to be dead set against providing rides.
Probably not what you want to hear, but there it is. If you try to so number 2, you may find yourself in hot water...bit that's your choice. Have you considered getting a second room at a value resort for the daughters arriving later? Then they could use the bus and have their own MBs.

I'm not sure I totally understand your plan so forgive me if I'm way off.

I have a coming and going situation too. DH and I will be in the room 10 nights. My 2 college daughters are staying for 6 nights. Another adult daughter will visit for a night (or two).

They all already have their own magic bands and this is with FL resident daughter having no ticket yet. And even though my reservations make it look like everyone will be there all 10 nights, Disney reservations assures me that I can make adjustments as needed as they come and go so that I only pay for extra guests on the nights they are using the room.

Does that help?

Let's sum this up as simply as possible.
Can you do it? Maybe...but it is convoluted and there is a lot of leeway for error.
Should you do it? Nope. If you can't put all your family on your reservation, book two rooms. Otherwise, use a shuttle service and realize that those not on a resort reservation are not going to be able to get any of the on-site type perks.

IF you could get the transportation to work, you still can't share MBs/tickets. It's a 1 person:1 ticket relationship for as long as that ticket has admits left on it. The finger scan is a technology tool that Disney uses to enforce this.

Why wouldn't you go pick them up? You are so strong on that. But why? 10 miles down a lovely toll road and back. (Downplaying getting to the toll road but I never have huge issues with 4 anyway and generally can find a reason to stop at the store to get more water or ice cream or something to make the drive more useful)

As a daughter, I loved being picked up by my mom at the airport when I would go home to visit. Given how young she died (55, just after I turned 30) I'm glad she did and we got to spend that time in the car talking. It's time you don't get back. I say to use it.

I paid for one person to go the whole trip and only one person will be using the band at a time, just not the same person. :littleangel:
From Disney's perspective, you paid for the same person to go the whole trip, but you plan to have two different people using the same Magic Band (just not on the same day).

Each daughter will need her own tickets and her own Magic Band. Tickets are not transferable, and this is enforced through biometric scanning.

If I'm reading it right, you have a room with a maximum occupancy of four. You will never have more that four people staying there.

I would recommend calling Disney Reservations and talking to a supervisor. Surely this situation has come up before. Let's hope that Disney has a way for the five of you to be properly attached to room the reservation(s).

Perhaps Disney can break your reservation into two linked back-to-back reservations, with the correct occupants noted for each, and with no change of room. Or perhaps Disney has a simpler way, with arrival and departure dates noted for each of you.

Guests who are on a Disney resort reservation can use Magical Express to arrive on or after the check-in date and/or depart on or before the check-out date. In any case, you do not need five Magical Express roundtrips because you'll have a car.

Please let us know what the supervisor at Disney Reservations tells you.

OK it sounds like ONE thing you want to do will work.

YOu have child 1, who is on the reservation and arrives with you. This child needs to go to MCO earlier then the rest of the family. If I have that part right then yes you can put that child on DME. I wouldn't even try now. (They tend to get completely confused... ) Once you get to Disney get the front desk to help you set up return transport for Child 1. You have to do this 24 hours in advance. (I do this every time for my partner, he won't stay as long as I do. :rotfl2:) Children 2 and 3 who aren't on the reservation get no DME and this one you can't fake. They tend to keep count :)

Now the tickets are big issue since it appears all of the kids involved are "adults" which means they have names tied to the Magic Band and biometrics. WHen Child 2 tries to get in with Child 1's ticket it's not going to work. Depending on the age of Child 1 they may ask for ID. They will ask some questions... If Child 2 is not a skilled liar the gig is up! While you may not like it what you are doing is trying to cheat the system.

Heres my suggestion. I assume you bought a package. Dump the tickets off the package and buy them seperately. Buy each child what he/she needs. IT's probably going to be cheaper not to buy from Disney. Then just wait. Once you get to Disney ask the front desk "On day X can I change child 1 to child 2 and still only have 4 people in the room" If they say no, smile. If they say yes, say great. If they say no on the day your kids swap go back and try again. This time ask for the front desk manager. (Smiling all the time) THey can do it, it's just going to be a pain!

I contacted disney- Since I have a family suite, I can have up to 6 in the room. I can add the extra children to the room when they get there but not extra hours-not to fret, we are not at a park any time for that. I can just tell the front desk to add them to the room and buy tickets (magic bands) for them when they kids get there. Still can't use the bus but they can pay for it- $20 each way- I don't want to leave because I will be arriving mid day and will be at DHS when then first one arrives 2 hours later at the airport. I will need to meet them at ASMusic any way to get them in the room and add the band with the tickets..and back to DHS before it closes at 9:30pm. so I buy 2 days of tickets for each DD..... not a big deal...

Disney is not a vacation........ It is an Adventure..........

Thanks for all your replies
