Has anyone had any trouble taking pins in a carry on? I bought some for my DS's to trade while we are there, but I don't know if I should pack them in the suitcase or in the carry on. I don't want to have problems with security.

I didn't have any problem with them in my carryon. You just don't want to wear them, any metal will set off the detector. My stainless steel watch and braclet sent me to the secondary check line. I had my pins in my carryon last trip in 2002 in a jewelry roll.
Have fun!

It's not a problem. Just be prepared to open whatever they are in so they can look at them. Many have reported no problems with taking them on the plane.

Would there be a problem putting them in checked luggage? We have too many to carry!

It wouldn't be a problem in checked luggage but you shouldn't put anything of value in your checked luggage. It might not make it home with you. :(

I always take my pins in my carry-on luggage. They are too valuable for being under the plane and out of my view. I have only been asked what they are once. :earsgirl:
