Hi everyone!

I was looking through the One Step Ahead magazine and I saw that they sold special ear plugs for children to wear on take off and landing to keep the ear pressure under control. Has anyone ever used these? Did you think that they worked???
TIA!

We use them all the time and just bought them at our local drugstore CVS for our trip this Saturday. Here is how much I've used them and believe in them. This coming Sat. will be our dd age 8, 17th trip to disney and we've used them for every flight since she started going at 10 months. Then her sister came a long and we've used them on all of her 16 trips to disney since she was 10 months old. I have not had to do bottles, nuks, or anything and they have never cried or had issues. The reason I use them for my little one is they sell them for adults and I've been using them on the recommendation of a flight attendant after having problems flying home from Hawaii with my ears. Before that I always had issues but that trip home was the worse. Since I've been using them I've had very little discomfort even and will NOT fly without them. NO I do not work for them, I just know they work and I fly A LOT with my two girls.

Earplanes is what they're called and they regulate the pressure of the ear consistently throughout the inner and outer ear. Works great for my daughter.

They look like regular earplugs and work the same way just put them in your ears. From what I understand there is a cork or something in the earplug that helps regulate the pressure. I actually have a picture of them in my ears. They are blue. I'll post when I can access my photobucket account.

This is soooo good to hear!! I have been stressing about him having an issue again this time. I was also worried about my littlest one (15mon). Do you wear them the whole flight or just on take off and landing??

I use Earplanes for myself when I fly and they've worked great! I just purchase a set for each of my kids for our trip next week. My daughter has ear problems anyway, so I figured any little bit helps!

We fly from Baltimore to Orlando which is a 2 hour flight you spend about the first 30 min and the last 30 min for take off and landing so I just leave mine and my girls earplanes in but you can take them out and put them in again just before you land. They are a charm.

I don't fly without them. They're truly a God send.

You can wear then for only take off and landing - or the entire time. I used to do the entire time, but realized I only needed them during take off and landing.

Once you're a cruising altitude - pop 'em out. When you start descending (about 20 minutes before landing) - pop 'em back in.

No ear popping, no ear pain, no feeling 'woozy' once you land. I love them. Theyre worth every cent.

Walgreens, Wal Mart, Target - they have them everywhere for around $6 a pair. That pair is good for 2 flights (there and back). They come in either a little tube - to store them in, or the newer ones come in a cute little snap shut container. Before the trip, I permanent marker our names on them, so we don't get the other ones ear cooties. :)
