Airmiles Armchair Chatter

Judy I had Cocoa into the vets a few weeks ago. Brand new carrier ,,like a backpack bubble....She hated it.

She was so traumatized by this vet visit and the new carrier that she pooped in it.
The vet was worried about her and ran some blood work. yep 700$ worth of tests and is she apparently suffering from stress. (Due to Miles,, sons cat being here and vet visit). If she even sees my middle son and I together in the house she runs and hides under his bed.
I grabbed a Amazon voucher Sept 4th and bought Cocoa a new top load cat carrier. Hopefully she does better at her next visit in a couple weeks,, I have some pet cat liner for the new carrier. The carrier is also washable.

( The visit is for shots so we can't just cancel it).
My fingers are crossed that your Amazon vouchers comes through soon.

Must admit I am quickly becoming a cruising convert. But only for locations in the world that it would be difficult for us to see another way. I love having one place to stay and yet see lots of different locations. It's nice to be able to come back to the ship and eat familiar food (keeps my digestive system happy).

So far we've done Alaska, the Maritimes (could have done that one by car). Next year we're doing the west coast of Norway up to Nord Cap and later in the year the Panama Canal and the west coast of South America as far a Santiago Chile. 2027 I'm thinking the second half of the South America cruise (Santiago - Buenos Aires) or maybe the Scandinavian capitals.
I agree that there are places that cruises just work. The Mediterranean is the first that comes to mind. You need transportation and accommodation. The only thing is that you really aren't going to see much when you only have 8 hours in one place. It's sort of like trying to make a meal at Costco from the sample ladies.
I like the convenience of cruising, especially when it comes to food (for my picky son), he can have what he wants and I don't have to buy another meal if it wasn't what he thought. I also like being able to see places I'd never spend a week in, Even places in the Caribbean like St Thomas, it would be expensive to stay there for a week, but a day visit from the cruise ship? Perfect. I would like to go to the Mediterranean as well, I am not sure about any of the cold places though, I get enough cold at home :D

I can see how in certain circumstances, like a picky eater, that a cruise would be good.

We love cruising-and preferably 3+ weeks at a time! The convenience of one pack/unpack is very appealing. Because of cruising we've seen places that I had dreamed of as a kid. And getting out of our Canadian winters has been wonderful!
I'm always looking to stretch vacations as long as possible but I don't think I could be on a ship for 3 weeks.

We were late to cruising because I really didn’t know if we would like it. Turns out we love it. I was looking at the Panama Canal sailing next year however I’m unfamiliar with the airports so I think I would find that a little stressful. If it weren’t for that, we’d be on it and we still might. That’s if I can get past figuring out the airport situation. Only time will tell.

ETA— welcome home dancing Disney style. Glad you had a good trip.
I'm in a bit of an era of doing the easy thing. At the beginning of August I was seriously looking at going to Alaska either the last week of Aug or first week Sept. The prices were really good. In the end I felt that I couldn't put it all together that fast because I had no idea what was required. All I knew was that I wanted to be able to go to Glacier Bay National park and only HAL and Princess go there. I tried to do the research but as I went along and saw the logistics it started to become less attractive. I still want to do it and might start doing the work to get it booked for next year. IDK, it's hard for me to book anything more than a few months ahead.
