Picked up another $200 in Disney Gift Cards from Metro yesterday. Have to use up some Cash Miles and since Metro is leaving, thought I should make hay while the sun shines. They didn't even blink an eye. The cashier actually told me she was getting ready to trade her AMs in for GCs before the end of the program with them. Wish all the Metros were that easy.
Now, to go pay off our cruise.

I’ve always collected dream miles, now for the first time, so far I’ve got about 140 cash miles, from the Shell Nitro+ promo.

Will Metro let me use my cash miles directly for just a gift card. Or do I have to do that trick where I spend $50 in groceries and buy a $50 gift card in order to use the 50 cash miles? Thanks!

It’s hard for me to answer that question. We have three metro where I live. The closest to me will absolutely not let you get a gift card with your AIR MILES. They make a huge point of telling you you can’t do it even when you’re not trying to. That Metro is annoying the question my purchase of gift cards even when I pay with cash . The second metro, which is a touch farther but not much, allows it and doesn’t even question what you’re doing. They don’t seem to care at all. We have a third metro downtown, but as I never go there, I don’t know how they work it. I understand it’s not something Metro is supposed to do, but that one store allows me to do it all the time. I think to date, throughout the years, I have managed to get $1000 in Disney gift cards.

Whether you can use AM Cash to pick up a GC and a few groceries is all comes down to the cashier you get and how they have been trained on the matter. I usually put all my purchases down including the GC and then when it comes time to pay I say I'll use AM Cash. If they ask me how much I want to use I usually ask how much can I use? If they are going to be sticklers for the rules they will come back with the amount of my grocery purchases if they come back with the total including the GC I know I'm good to go.

I leave the matter in the hands of the cashier and I'm not breaking any rule they know about.

They also need the form to be signed by your vet and the dog needs a healthy certificate from the vet within 30 days of travel (if I'm reading the online bot information correctly)

Check with your vet if you're planning on travelling to the US with you dog. Better safe than sorry.

Hmmm...this is what it says on the CDC website ...

Starting on August 1, 2024, all dogs entering the United States must:

• Appear healthy upon arrival;
• Be at least six months of age;
• Be microchipped; and
• Be accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form online submission receipt.

There is a "dogbot" question and answer page that confirms the above info if your dog has had its rabies shot and has only been in Canada. I don't need where it says you need a wellness form from the vet (it says you have to have one of the following four certifications that they list) and the receipt from the import form is just like we used for the covid questionnaire.

I just switched from Dream Airmiles to collecting Cash Airmiles.
I guess I'll use them for e voucher gift cards and
my Starbucks holiday money.
Going forward my earning potential with Airmiles best suits this new strategy.

Why not try there to use your cash miles?

No go at Shell unfortunately, it would be nice!

Our local stations won't let us use anything other than cash to buy them but that's a different story

We were able to use Disney gift cards at all the Starbucks on Disney property when went.

Yeah I do that (especially Disney Springs) ,,, but I really use them a lot at many of the Universal Resort Hotels and at City Walk too.

My July flights were $144 us down and $154 us back when i booked so far they have dropped in price a couple of times and I have individual $49 dollar credits for all four flights.

Syracuse airport for SW flights will not be available after 4 Aug 2024.

Albany has more direct flights then Rochester.

I have flown from Buffalo in the past but I do not like theToronto drive get there.

That’s a pretty decent price. With the exchange rate though it still comes out to what I’m paying from YYZ. Plus, no added time, gas or parking. Sometimes I do have to park n fly but I can get a week in the valet for under $140.

Don’t get me wrong. I love SW and love BUF but I’m going to go with the best flight times and price. The last few years it has been YYZ.

no, they will take ONLY cash and certain types of debit cards. I never have more than $5 cash on me and don't have an account with a debit card so i just don't buy gift cards at Shell! Again this is obviously a YMMV situation, but the station we go to, them's the rules i gotta follow.

It must be just that station. Over the years I’ve bought thousands of dollars in GC and never once paid with anything other than my CC.

I planned on using my "free" starbucks gift cards at Disney to pay for many things, but I was only interested in going in to buy treats 1 time. We don't drink coffee (I strongly dislike even the smell of it!) but I wanted a snack and my husband bought a refresher drink thingy. It was super fun getting "free" food at Disney!

But I actually used it to get "free" food at the airports when we were delayed and I was tired of protein bars! I literally just got the Starbucks app before going down this trip because of all the suggestions on here to get GCs and use in the parks/Springs =)

So my next chapter of the on going foot issues...
I went and had an assessment from a guy that only deals with feet and makes custom orthotics, splits and other sorts of things. I can't recall what I was told his title is. My osteopath set it up. It was a 45 minute visit with him having me do a bunch of different things and a TON of questions. He did a lot of poking about to bring on the pain. End result I have the opposite problem of most people with PF. My arch is very high rather than low/flat. I do have the PF and it might be starting in my other foot too. He recommended having orthotics made as my arch needs the support that it doesn't naturally have. He is going to rush the process to have them ready for next week. The goal is that if all goes as planned they will feel great right from the start. If not and they need some tweaking I will have his services for the next year all included in the fee. Only problem is that he is relocating to Cambridge...but that is not really that far away from me so I'm ok with that. For now he told me to continue with acupuncture and I have to get serious about the daily icing and stretching. I've been good with the stretching but not the icing. Next week I have to bring a bunch of shoes that I want to be wearing and we will discuss what I need to be wearing in the future. LOL....he looked at my favourite work shoes and was not impressed. I have LOVED these shoes, so much that I have four pair. I knew the ones I had on were past their prime and I just broke out a new pair that I had been saving. He said no. I also brought the pair I bought on the weekend and he said to only wear those.

This guy is clearly passionate about what he does. Who in the heck decides that feet are where it's at for them? Thankfully someone does
