Airmiles Armchair Chatter

I just tried to do an online purchase at Petsmart for the weekend offer. Entered all my info and it said there was a problem with my CC. Looked at the info, it was all correct. Ok tried another CC and that processed, or did it. It then came up with a Uh-oh something went wrong. Try again. Still get that message.

So frustrating when I'm just trying to get the order done and picked up before the storms come. I'll try again later this afternoon.
I had that problem a couple of weeks ago. I tried a few times and eventually it went through. Frustrating though.

OOPSIE, somehow it has ended up being Friday and I neglected to take Frederick for a drink yesterday! We did the fancy-pants Airmiles Maths and decided we could do better if I headed to Shell yesterday for gas, 2 online shops today/Saturday and then Shell on Sunday to pick up a gift card for Crappy Tire. We need to get a filter for the air purifier that's in the bedroom and normally I just order them on A-mazon but that's no longer an option for this household. Recently CT started carrying them for the same price so I'll buy the gift card and get the miles for that transaction and then wait for a sale and/or Triangle offer to line up with buying the filter to earn those $$ I like that reward program because there's no deciding what to do with the rewards, simple cash deduction on a future purchase!

For my online transactions it will be Well dot ca for any number of things that can easily take me to the $100 mark for that extra bonus, lots of my food is available thru them along with masks (YES, I still wear them when I'm in close contact with large groups, ie commuting on mass transit!), cleaning supplies and other household items. The 2nd will probably be Staples since they have facial tissues & hand soap that we use on sale this week and since it's a business account there's no shipping fee so I won't need to worry about heading out into the potential freeing rain storm(s) Hubby will be stopping for gas on his way home with the hope that he can squeeze 20 L in to trigger the single mile because he needs to go to a client early Tuesday morning and he'd rather not worry about having enough fuel to go and then come home after that.

I decided to treat myself to a new vacuum as the one I wanted was on sale on Amaz… + spend $100 get 100AM + 5AM per $20 spent. Ordered yesterday and it arrived today, so did the miles. I’m shocked! And the new vacuum is awesome. Bissell Cleanview Swivel w cord rewind in case anyone needs a new one too. Was GoCleanCo top rated vacuum for 2025.

With the weather being so awful today, I’m trying to figure out another online shop. I looked at Walmart, but couldn’t tell if it’s pick up, delivery or online orders which counted?🤷‍♀️

So only delivered counts
ONLY things from these categories though *confusion sets in over grocery though being in both lists so I would not order those just to be safe

I finally did the Airmileshops spend $100 get 100AM. My dog eats american food, so I decided to stock up with a bit. I saw that it was on sale when I did my other Petsmart shopping this weekend. Saved $10 on the sale got another $10 in Treats points and 100AM from Airmiles. I'll pick it up tomorrow when the ice on the driveway melts.

Jeez I wish my Shell miles would post so I won't have to fight for the bonus. I know the card was scanned as my number (miles totals) shows on the receipt.
Well the miles show on the Shell app so I have proof we got gas.

Updated that my 6 miles have posted so my offer is done.

Got gas Friday and it posted already. I ordered from Amazon and hopefully that will post soon. Also spent $100 at Old Navy and those all posted already. So at least two worked right away. Hopefully the Amazon will post without an issue. It was socks so that's Clothing and accessories. Which is a category, and was $21 before taxes so that's an airmile.

Just catching up on thing in here. Work has been extremely busy along with mentally and emotionally exhausting as well. I am on the count down until we are headed for a week away when my only decision will be when to belly up to the buffet and which bathing suit I want to wear for the day. #10 days :cheer2: almost down to single digits!!!!

I haven't had much time to even think about trying to get extra AM right now. Hopefully I have a few extra minutes today at work to cruise around. Tonight is trying to get some steps in and whipping up a couple loaves of bread for the week.

Off Topic
What are you and your families doing to soften the blow if economic times ahead may be difficult?
I/We have been extremely blessed the last few years but that doesn't mean we aren't tightening our belts.

I am now buying items and stocking up when I see sales. We are scrapping the bottom of our freezer now since dh and son didn't hunt last fall. So that is our #1 priority for this fall. Luckily we have family friends who let us hunt on their land. They are farmers so the elk and moose are basically grain fed. We are lucky enough to have multiple Hutterite and Mennonite colonies around who sell their game for decent prices.

I've gone back to weekly baking. I bake all our bread items, as well as cookies and muffins. I will be doing more garden pots this year. I've started my tomato plants already and am planning on potatoes again this year. The past few years, I've had good luck with my grow bags and had a good bushel of potatoes at the end of the season.

I will be going to the farmer's market for fresh veggies over the summer (even though it is more expensive than the grocery store - it supports local people) and picking up extra pickling cucumbers to make my own this year. Along with my tomatoes I'm growing to make my own salsa, pasta sauce, and hopefully sundried tomatoes. I'll also be visiting a You-pick farms for fruit to try my had at jam and pie filling.

I am going back to how my mom did some things growing up and making what I can. I may try more canning this year - but I will see how much time I actually have to do that.

Have a great day everyone!!!! Off to see if I can score a few extra AM.

Wondering if purchasing a Tim Horton's gift card in store will work for the BMO offer?

Hugs Mel
It should. It always has in the past.
I read the offer wrong and thought it started today but it's opt in starting today. Went and picked up a Netflex gift card. Now I'll need to do something similar Friday. Oh well, worse things have happened.
