Just want to add about the basic seat policy change. In April, Air Canada brought in a preassigned seat rule change that lasted 1 day and then cancelled due to the uproar against it. Unfortunately, I was flying to Switzerland that one day. If you hadn't paid for a seat in advance, at the 24 hour mark you were assigned a seat which you could only change for a fee (my overseas flight was over $50 to change but can't actually remember the change price). I was flying standard fare and was given a window which is my preferred seat option. However, people flying basic together were split up in preassigned middle seats in the plane leaving empty aisle and windows available to be paid for.

So bottom line, if you book basic and want to sit with someone or not have a middle seat, you need to pay for it.

Bagel downgrade!! Changed to 5 airmiles for every $5 instead of 5 airmiles per bag.

So what happens when you wait to select seats at 24 hour online check in? Do they only give you the option for middle seats?

In April, at the 24 hour mark, you would check-in and see what seat they gave you. You didn't get to pick. If you didn't like your seat, you could pay and change it to whatever was still available. Basic fares had been assigned middle seats. The person I sat beside for example was on the same reservation as his brother, one middle seat in front of us.

It just occurred to me that I better start transferring my miles to Cash and cashing them in! I need to cash in like 12,000 in the next year! I was going to book our flights with air miles, but traveling with a group it's easier to book with cash so we are all on the same flights. Plus, we will likely try to book with Porter or Air Transat when we go. Plus, my travel insurance on my mastercard will cover everything I charge to it.

Only four places to redeem in-store, but some good options for eVouchers.

You can book porter or air transat with AM. But it may not really work out to be cheaper than booking direct.

I don't think BMO knows what to do with their new Receipts offers ,,and they are still in the baby stages with it's development.
Hopefully they start to offer more options, limits and quantity.

The APP needs some adjustments also.
How about a little Christmas Tree with blank Ornaments and each time you get a Food product your ornament lights up and you get a certain amount of rewards? Wrap The Christmas Tree.




Well my Scene+ hasn't had many options since Sobeys in the neighborhood closed down,, sometimes FreshCo has a few. I'll be picking up a couple Swanson skillet dinners today. 400 points per 1.8 kg bag.

With Food prices set to go up another 5-6% next year I will be shopping where I can get the best deal which right now seems to be Food Basics MOI.
