Airmiles Armchair Chatter

Should I be worried that the $18 I spent (before tax) at Pharmasave yesterday didn't work because I just looked at my receipt and it said Airmiles earned 0 (grrrr!) Also, any ideas why I can never get my receipts to scan, bought pancake mix yesterday and try to submit and I always get a blue screen that say Oops! Looks like something went wrong - this happens almost every time I try it no matter what store I shop at
What did you purchase at Pharmasave? Maybe it was something that isn't included in airmiles.

The one receipt of mine that didn’t go through has my airmiles number on it as well and also says 0 airmiles. I plan to fight it in 60 days. In my case, I purchased two greeting cards which may have been causing issues yesterday. More likely in my case, it was cashier error, something went wrong with credit card transaction so she redid it. I had three other transactions that successfully went through at the same store.

Doesn’t solve your issue but thought I’d share my experience. I am not including it as part of my shop the block transactions, as a matter of fact I may go back and do another transaction at the same store before the promo ends,

My granny was always telling everyone to look at the bright side of things and I'm sorry, the only bright side at the moment being that we'll be able to take our time and concentrate on finishing the StB promo just doesn't come close to taking the sting away. It's looking more and more like we're going to have to postpone the trip. We keep adding symptoms or ones that we thought were abating get worse again. Hubby's got the GI crap (literally) going on now and my balance is more wonky again. I spent HOURS looking at possible switches and we think we've settled on our plan B trip. Unfortunately it will be after my annual pass expires but it will include both of our birthdays again.
When you were checking Disney Hotels did you try Undercovertourist? They have Disney Hotels with decent room rates not as good as Disney Annual Pass rates. You have to pay when you book the hotel room, but you can cancel and get a refund. Maybe you can check them out and see if they have availability before your annual pass expires.

i would love to be proved wrong, I'm glad to hear that bonus miles work as well.

I would appreciate it if people could give an overall amount they've spent. I, as you saw above, had talked myself out of this promo.

So, I think I have done 5 but I would love it if someone could check my math!

1. Pharmasave spent $23.99 for special shampoo DH needed, 2 reward miles (posted already) plus 100 bonus for shopping Sept. 20
2. Dollarama spent $30.91 for a $30 Amazon gc plus a chocolate bar, 1 reward mile for card linked offer
3. Shell, spent $50.00 for a Sobeys gift card, 20 bonus miles (posted already)
4. Receipt offer, 4 X 4 miles for raspberries and 2 X 5 miles for eggs. Scanned receipts but waiting for them to be reviewed
5. Sephora, spent $102.00, 7 miles/$20 plus a card linked offer of 45 miles when you spend $100, total 80 miles

So, that should do me for the STB 5 partners 775 miles if all of those post correctly and are valid.

Total for this promo should be 1004AM
102 Pharmasave
1 Dollarama
20 Shell
26 Receipts
80 Sephora
775 STB

Spent: $247ish but the only thing I bought that I didn't need or would not use right away was the Sephora purchases but they are all products I currently use and will need in the future. I could have saved some $ and bought something closer to the $10 min spend at Pharmasave but DH needed the shampoo anyways. Amazon gc will always get used and Thrifty Foods accepts Sobeys gc and I shop there almost exclusively.

Three down for me. I sent and got some baby carrots for the receipt offer and they already posted, plus got some fancy cat food at Global for the kitties, spent $23 before taxes so that's 1 AM (plus 5 bonus AM I think). Plus the Pharmasave on Friday, totals 3. I will go to Shell tomorrow on the way home from work and Dollarama on Friday on the way home from work. Then I'll be done. Phew! I keep hoping Dollarama will have some kind of bonus, which is why I'm putting it off until Friday lol. That will also use my BMO MC so get me the bonus 50 AM for that.

Bonus pic of Miss Bonita. She is only about 5lbs, about a third the size of Olaf. She met my oldest cat Snickers today. He is always good with new cats, doesn't really care about them so I thought it would be a good one to start with. She thought his tail was an awesome new toy, he told her to back off and she did. So good kitty manners all around. :) Her head looks a little wet/greasy from the ear drops.

adulting is HARD! We made the decision this morning to postpone the trip and just like that, from 5 days left to back over 2 months 😕

Switching everything was super easy, did it all online, just changed the dates and picked the room category and discount (2 were active for me to pick from) Switching the Porter flights was slick, again, just picked the dates I wanted, it populated flight choices and charged us the difference in fare. I was shocked to see that it actually came in lower than if I booked the flights as new, almost looks like I got the same discount %applied to the current rate. It kept us in the same seats as we had already picked out and I've still got the full refund option showing took less than 5 minutes. I just keep getting new symptoms pop up or ones I thought were gone come back

COVID-19 SUCKS

Just think of all the pre Christmassy stuff you will see (buy).
A a nice stroll along Disney Springs to see all the Themed Christmas Trees.
Lots to dream and think about.

Feel free to use us as examples in your cautionary tales to others about the value provided by paying for the flexible fare, for keep detailed lists of things that need to be cancelled, moved, transferred, refunded, including the final dates. If we had gone with a package instead of a RO reservation we would have been SOL unless we found a good cast member on the phone. Booking everything the way I did, paying the extra maybe $100/ticket to get the level of airfare that allowed me to simply modify the flights, was 100% worth it. I didn't book anything that wasn't 100% refundable or would retain it's value as a credit (much prefer the refund though)

There are times for basic, bare bones, eat dry cereal in your room trips, but if you have an emergency pop up, you're suddenly without the trip AND the funds to book a new one.

I thought for Shell, the STB offer applies to base miles earned with in-store partners. If it is the case, does the Shell gift card transaction count? That’s a bonus miles not base mile transaction.

Global has a couple bonuses this week and coming weekend to opt into.
Spend $80 get 80 AM starting today thru Sunday.
Spend $20 get 100 AM Friday to Sunday.

Shell also looks to have a 1 AM per liter on Thursday only. I didn't have time to look too closely, I don't think it's only for the fancy gas but the regular too. I need gas, not sure I can make what I have last until Thursday. We'll see.

Just following up with a visual ,,, thanks Heather.

Thanks so much for posting these bonus offers!
I went out on the 20th to hit up Pharmasave and was successfull BUT my local Global did not have what I needed in stock and my Shell station was closed due to getting a new sign. I was a bit panicked because I wanted to get as many done as I could but I had no choice so this is a lovely surprise!

Hi Hon
I honestly don't know ,,
The Terms and Conditions For Shop The Block say both Base OR Bonus Airmile

Collectors must earn at least one AIR MILES Reward MileTM or Bonus Mile during the Offer Period at (i) 3 different AIR MILES® partners, in-store or through airmilesshops.ca, AIR MILES® Receipts, airmilescardlink.ca or travel.airmiles.ca to qualify for 100 Bonus Miles; (ii) 4 different AIR MILES® partners, in-store or through airmilesshops.ca, AIR MILES® Receipts, airmilescardlink.ca or travel.airmiles.ca to qualify for 250 Bonus Miles; or (iii) 5 or more different AIR MILES® partners, in-store or through airmilesshops.ca, AIR MILES® Receipts, airmilescardlink.ca or travel.

Shell says this,,, (they seem to be using the wording REWARD Mile instead of Base or Bonus lately)

*** 1 AIR MILES® Reward Mile for every $5 purchased in-store in a single transaction. Before taxes and excludes tobacco products, lottery tickets (instant and scratch), Shell Gift Cards, Partner/third-party gift cards, prepaid credit cards, phone cards, and any other goods or services specified from time to time or as excluded by law.
