Airlines Black Friday sales?

Hi Jerseygirl81...I used to live in NJ. Moved to California 10 years ago. Anyway.....I'm not sure if airlines have any deals on Black Friday. I'm hoping they do. I was also thinking (hoping) on Thanksgiving Day itself because many stores are now open on that day. I've read articles on line about it and never did it give a definite yes or no. Prices are insane right now and I sure hope they come down.

California is a big change from Jersey! We've been talking about vacationing out there in the next couple of years, so much to see and do. I'm usually busy doing other things on black Friday and never thought to check the airlines for sales till just the other day? Linda :)

We live in NJ also. Booked BWV back in February for Christmas week. Everyone told me airfares would drop in the summer. They didn't. We will be driving for the first time as a family unless we can score a last minute deal.

Prices to MCO from Newark, Philadelphia or Baltimore are currently $600ea and up. 600 X family of 4 + Baggage fees = tooo much.

If anyone know the secret to better pricing please let me know.

I bought my flight from Newark nj to Mco the very first day they went on sale. We're leaving next week. I paid just under $900 for four tickets. It was the cheapest I've seen them.

We have flown out of Laguardia the past couple of trips you can sometimes catch a good fare on Delta or Jetblue. Last trip we flew into Tampa we rent a car anyhow so that wasn't an additional expense. The parking at Laguardia is higher than Newark we paid $19 a day a few weeks ago. Linda :)

Some incorrect info in this thread. Many airlines will have cyber Monday sales. Jet Blue, Allegiant, Alaska, Cathay Pacific for sure. Southwest will likely have another sale. Others maybe. Good article on it can be found here:

In general you can expect the deals will be slightly worse than last year. Which was worse than the previous. Just the way it seems to be going.

I am hoping SW's sale allows for travel past mid March. I have to go to CA at the end of March and right now it is very pricey.

Just cancelled our Feb trip to WDW. Airline tickets are so expensive. Could not justify the price at all. I remember this Jan when we went that I got tickets for $200 R/T from Omaha to MCO. Doubt I will ever see that again.

Have you considered driving? We spend about $700 on the rt driving. Stay offsite so we'd need a car anyway and since there are five of us, it saves a lot of money!

Just an update, Cathay Pacific and Alaska sales are live. Got SEA-LAS at a good price. The direct SEA-MCO is only slightly discounted.

have you looked at Allegiant out of Des Moines? It's only a 2 hour drive from here. I agree, airfare out of Omaha is ridiculous lately!
