Which airlines are at the cruise terminal? How do you go about checking in there? Where exactly are they?

On our Wonder cruise last year, we stayed an extra day in Orlando, so I never even noticed the airline check-in's

The airline check-in is on the side of the terminal near the Disney buses. Go out that door, cross the sidewalk and walk back towards the ship. They have aisle set up down there for the various airlines. I know there is a Delta check-in because we stood in line for 20 minutes only to be told they would'nt take our luggage because our flight time was too close. it apparently works like the skycap at the airport--they take your luggage and give you the tag info. Since we couldn't use it, i'm not sure of the particulars. I think American has a check in there, but I can't remember the others

The airlines that allow baggage check-in at the port are:

Delta
American
US Airways
Continental
Northwest

Your flight must depart after 11:00 am to use the service.

This may sound like a very silly question, but here goes....I am flying with Song in September. If Song is operated by Delta as Song, can I check bags at the Delta counter at the termina?? Or am I out of luck?

That is a good question. I am assuming you should be able to.

Thanks Michelle, I guess it would have been easier to ask if US Airways had a check-in at port  Sorry about that.

Not a silly question, I called Delta last week to ask this question.

I was told you could check your bags at the delta counter for a song flight.

Horray!!! Thanks so much for the information. I am traveling with my grandson and other family members (lots of luggage) and our plane does not leave MCO for Dullus until about 4:30. Glad I don't have to worry about the luggage!

We used US Airways at the port and got it thru the line quickly and everything in order. That was the only part of our US Airways experience that went smoothly. We were at the airport in plenty of time for our 11:20 flight. All we did was walk to the gate and wait!

vgaskin, dare I ask what wasn't smooth about your USAirways experience? (I'm almost afraid to hear the answer!)

Oh, and what time did you get off the ship? What kind of transportaion did you use?

Thanks in advance!

This is just by opinion, others hate Southwest and I absolutely love southwest. So to each their own. Disney booked us on US Air in April. We had connections each way, which I think is about the only way US Air flies. We were supposed to be at Disney World at 10am, we had the land and Sea so had park passes and hoped to have half a day at the parks on Sunday. We had a 6 am flight so we had the kids up at 3:30 am. We waited and waited and they said that our plane had mechanical problems but they were having another flight stop by and pick us up. About 8:30 am they finally told us this was not happening and cancelled our flight and we lost the connecting flight. They said they and all other airlines were booked solid because of spring break and we could go out Monday morning. I had already called US air and all other airlines by cell phone and found a US air flight leaving at 4pm and getting in at 10 pm. After telling them that, they put me and several others on that one. Many people had cruises and I think several of them missed them, especially the party of 16 sailing out of San Juan, PR. Some were getting into Orlando at 4pm and had to be on the ship by 5pm, I don't know who they were cruising with. So we get in at 10pm, 12 hours after we were scheduled. All the flights were overbooked by atleast 5, sometimes 15 and we had to wait until they convinced enough people to get off the plane. I called Disney and asked since they booked the flights if we would be compensated for our half day of park tickets we lost and they said no, you didn't buy insurance. Well, I thought they would back what they booked.

On the way home, everything was overbooked again and we waited in Charlotte for an hour for them to get some people to "volunteer". We almost did but didn't want the kids to miss school, they were giving the hotel, food, and compl. tickets. For 5, that was awful tempting. Once we finally get on the plane, the reason it was overbooked was because they were trying to get all their employees home for the night. I think the employees should be bumped before us, my opinion. We complained loudly after we got back, especially about the first flight and got 5 $100 vouchers good for a year which we will not use, because they don't fly straight thru and it is not worth the trouble. Also, our direct flight with Delta for November is cheaper than US Air, even after we took the $500 off!

I won't fly them again but many people have gripes with other airlines. I have never seen an US Airways flight leave with no hassles. I know alot of people have problems with Delta and we never have, I hope November is not a first! Southwest is my fav as they normally go very smoothly but delta beat the price and times.

Oh yuck. That's really ashame. USAir almost always overbooks their flight. It's an irritation, but so far has never directly affected me.

I've always flown from Philly on USAir. I've always booked my own air, so I'm able to book direct flights (no connections). I guess maybe because Philly is a major USAir hub, it seems to run very smoothly. The only problem I've had was with a thunderstorm delaying our flight out 5 hours.

I have noticed that most flights booked with Disney are connecting. I don't know if that's a coincidence or not.

Good luck in November with Delta :)

Oh, can you tell me what time you got off the ship and what transportation you used back to the airport?

Thanks!!

We flew Comair which is Delta's baby also and used the check in at the port.

We used Disney transportation but I don't remember what time we left the boat. We had first breakfast seating at 6:30 and then the girls were slow eating and I took them to potty and so forth. We were no where near the first ones. We had to wait until the bus filled up, we were on atleast the 2nd one. We did not rush at all. The absolute latest you will be off is 9 I think. I think we probably left around 8 ish if I had to guess. I don't know what time we got to the airport but I think we were over 2 hours in advance. We checked in at the port so all we had to do is walk to our gate.

Do you have to be using Disney tranportation to use counter service at the port? How helpful is the service? Any risks? We are tacking a limo to the airport. When we get there do we just go to the counter to get boarding passes or what?

We sailed on the Wonder 10/6-10/9 and we rented a car for the day we came back because our flight wasn't leabing until 8pm. We were flying usAir and we checked our bags in at the port right after leaving the ship at 8am. UsAir took our bags to the airport and stored them until our flight left that night. It was great! we then took a shuttle to the renatl car and drove to Kennedy Spasce Center and then onto MCO and dropped the car off there.

The only small hitch was that one of our suitcases took an earlier flight and was waiting for us in Philadelphia!

We have flown US Air the last 3 times to FL from Phila and never had a problem, but I agree with the other poster who said that the trips from PHL to MCO are almost all straight through. I book my own air as well, much cheaper than having Disney do it.
