Airlines and Hurricanes

I just got this off of weather.com:
Fluctuations in intensity are likely, but Wilma is forecast to remain an extremely dangerous Category 5 hurricane through Thursday. The projected track of the storm takes it through the Yucatan Channel into the extreme southern Gulf of Mexico Friday. After that, Wilma is expected to come under the influence of westerly winds aloft blowing across the Gulf. That should hurl the hurricane toward the Florida Peninsula, probably the southern part of the peninsula, this weekend. Wilma is expected to be weakening by then, but weakening is a relative term and Wilma may still be a major hurricane (winds over 110 mph) when it makes landfall.

Did you notice also on Deltas site that at this point they are only waiving the change fee and not any diffrerence in fare which at this last minute will be quite a bit for most flights!

Well Spirit got with the program and we were able to change to coming in Friday evening..we didnt want to give up the trip for one bad weather day so getting in sooner will be fine for us.

Now to deal with the car rental as I got a good rate and cant get it if I revise the reservation...they say I would have to book a new one for the new arrival to be returned when we are due to have picked up the other one and then return it and get the new one...which means going to the airport on Sunday morning which we didnt want to do! Stinks

Not always. If there are seats in the fare class then you get them without a change fee. I routinely make changes to return flights for only the change fee since they have "fare class" seats. (I actually think this is how AA works too, but not sure about USAir and United)

Yes, I noticed that plus they're not including Orlando even though the other major airlines are. Maybe that will change in the coming hours.
