I need to purchase some airline tickets for our trip to WDW next Spring so I have been watching fares on Expedia.com and Orbitz.com.

I am wondering if there is a good time to purchase tickets for next spring. If I see a reasonable rate now, should I purchase now or will the rates proabaly go lower later?

Has anyone had good luck with purchasing their tickets for the Spring at a certain time of year?

Just looking for advice.

Thanks,

jeff

I'd like to see this answered also, we're looking for air-fare in Feb. 2002. ~:)~

The big fare sales usually happen 2-3 months ahead of the time you want to fly. If you happen to catch a great fare early, that's great, but the big sale for spring will happen during the winter.

what are the dates in feb? no sale out yet for feb. I check a couple of times a day. I don't expect the great ones until jan. but they should have the sales starting as early as nov for feb travel. possibly late oct but more than likely nov.

I agree with Beverly that it is probably too soon. The exection might be if you are flying from the Northeast on the President's Day weekend. My friends who fly to Disney from Boston at that time of the year book very early and have rarely seen rates go cheaper than what they booked so that might be a consideration.

I would suggest watching the rates for specials starting now...

We have traveled to WDW for President's week the last two years, since my wife is a teacher and gets the week off. We also will be going this year.

Two years ago I waited and ended up paying $390 a ticket.

Last year I found a special in October for $301 a ticket.

About 1 month ago, I found a fare for $323 per ticket, down from $ 493 (which the fare is back up to again). It should be noted that we fly out of Duluth Minnesota and have to connect in Minneapolis (which explains the high price of airline tickets). I purchased the tickets on Tuesday and the fare was back up to it normal high price on Wednesday.

If you see a fare that looks good, grab it! You can always get a voucher if the price comes down.

I got $100 + tx. RT on Delta from MSP for Feb with a return on the busy President's day Monday. Purchased it last month, so a great fare is possible, though not likely. Like others have said you need to be vigilant and check often. Around Nov. you will start to see more frequent sales for those dates.

Northwest had a sale of $250 rt out of Duluth. Spouse hemmed and hawwed a bit until it was too late. I managed to snag a $288 rt instead for 2/28/02 to 3/7/02. For Duluth, this is a good deal. Last year we flew out of Minneapolis for $187 rt using ATA. Add the cost of Park n Fly motel ($89), eating out, Mall of America trip, gas, time spent driving (3 hours from Duluth to Cities, and a motel stay on the return trip, this is very reasonable! We are going down for our 24th anniversary sans kids!!!!!

This will be a CHEAP vacation for us. Mr. Bush paid for the airline tickets, Uncle Jesse paid for the motel. The spouse is a Disney Castmember so things will be a bit cheaper there too. Now if I could only find someone to pay for the car rental.....any volunteers?

I had been looking for tickets for Feb. also. On May 31, I happened to find tickets for the four of us from MKE to MCO for 198 each on Delta. My magic number was 200 or less, so I snatched them up. We are going Feb 9-16 (Saturday to Saturday) so I thought it was a great rate!If you see something that you are happy with, snatch them up!!

I was wondering the same thing, when can I purchase my plane tickets for next August.
Yesterday,in the Boston Globe I saw prices for Bos to Orl for $110!!! I think this price is awesome!! But,is it for travel for this year only??
