I haven't flown in awhile. I know you can't take liquids through security except for the 1 oz. things that fit in a quart size ziplock bag. This may sound really dumb but can I take mints or Splenda packets in my purse? :confused3

Also can I take my cell phone and camera chargers in my carry on?

Thanks!

it's liquids up to 3 oz that fit in a 1 quart bag. the splenda should be fine. i'm sure the mints will be too, as long as they aren't liquid or gel in nature.

and yes, those items can go in carryon.

Thanks bradk I'm really stressing out over all of this! I'm putting everything I can into my checked bag and praying this isn't the time they lose it!!! :scared1: I'll be carrying on my phone plus charger and camera and charger. I've placed my eye drops, medication, hand sanitizer and lip gloss in a quart size ziplock. I'm sure the return trip will be easier once I have this all under my belt.

Stop stressing. This is really quite simple. Pack any electronics in your carryon bag. I always put my cell phone/charger, video camera, digital camera, gameboys, dvd player in one bag. In my ziploc baggie goes a 3 oz shampoo, 3 oz conditioner, hand sanitizer, suntan lotion, travel size toothpaste/brush, 3 oz mouthwash. All my meds go in a baggie of their own (my choice not TSA's)..that way security can see what's what in one look.
With three of us traveling, I always have the bag with the ziploc toiletries in it, the changes of clothes, swimsuits and travel documents. DH gets the bag with the electronics, as well as his laptop if he is bringing it. Dd has her own bag with her books and snacks in it. So, when we get to the security area, off come our Crocs, they go into the first bin, then our bags go on the belt, dh opens his bags of electronics, we go through the scanner, put our Crocs back on, grab our carryons and head to the gate. It is a well oiled process.
There isn no need to worry or stress. Take your time, don't get flustered and you'll be fine.

Don't mix your meds in with your 3-1-1 bag of liquids/gels. Keep them separate. Tablet/pill medicines do not need to be in any special bag or container just put them in your purse or carryon.

Liquid medicines, prescription and nonprescription, and gel pills, should go in a another clear ziplock bag and declared as you enter the security area and again at the scanner.

See the allowed items page and the 3-1-1 details at www.tsa.gov
