I have never flown with my kids before. We will be flying Air-tran with our 3 kids, they are 11 and under. Do I need their birth certificate or some type of ID for them?

Kids don't need ID to fly. The only time you need a Birth Certificate is if they are flying as a lap baby (under 2) or a special children's fare to prove their age to the airline-not to many fly with this fare. Most are on adult fares so need no ID.

Again if on a normal fare, children need no ID. Children never need ID to go thru security, it is only rarely needed for the airline special fare.

Adding: lap babies under 2 always need a birth certificate.
