I have a Friday A.M. flight from Pgh to Orlando and want to change that to Weds. or Thursday A.M. to increase my nights at WDW to 5 or 6 instead of the 4 I have now. That way I can qualify for the Season of Dreams package, which one has to stay at least 5 nights to qualify for. My airline ticket is non-refundable with a $100 change fee per person (four of us flying). Anyone out there ever get United (or any airline) to waive that fee?

No, never.

I just checked on changing one of my tickets today. DL only charges a $50 fee, but the fare increase adds on another $75.

You're probably too close to your trip but if your airline has a significant schedule change, maybe 2 hours, you'd have a good shot of making your change without paying a change fee or the fare difference.

Airlines offer, expensive, fares that are fully refundable and changeable. Most of us book deeply discounted fares. We get a discount in exchange for committing to flying on a specific flight. Even then the airline is willing to let us change if we pay a change fee and any fare difference.

The chances of United waiving your $100 change fee is probably zero. My husband used to be an elite FF member at United (forget the level, but he had over 150,000 miles) and even then he had to pay the change fees.

Thats the main reason I ONLY fly Southwest......... :cool1:

1.No $$ change fees...
2.Tickets are refundable.....
3.Best customer service of any airline...
4.DING fares....$98 roundtrip total Pitts-MCO non-stop
5.Only need $19,000 charged(on credit card) for a free ticket vs $25,000 on legacy carriers

Hmmm, I know they advertise the 5 night package, but I also got it on a 4 night stay at WL. You should check this out with WDW - Mousesavers shows you only need a three night stay to qualify for the Season of Dreams package - in the package details it shows:

You must book by 9/30/06. Requires a 3-night minimum stay. The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Tickets must be used within 14 days of first use unless you add the No Expiration option for an extra cost. No group rates or other discounts apply.

Good luck! :Pinkbounc

There are very few refundable tickets. The ones that are not can be applied to another flight that has to be completed within 12 months of the original purchase.
There awards are great and very liberal. Don't know about the cc charge awards.
The only time you pay any charge to change is if your flight has increased in price. Then you will pay the difference.

And I only fly SWA. Best in the business.
