Oh! Also, one more thing regarding large bags: Even if it meets the size requirements, it may be overweight. Most airlines will charge you for an overweight bag, so check the weight before you go! I think 50 lbs is the standard they go by, but I'm not sure.
SNA is a crazy airport and some flights have weight restrictions (depends on the type of plane) so they *may* be sticky on it....do you know what kind of plane you are on?
