airfare to copenhagen?

We're doing the 8/9/18 Northern European cruise from Copenhagen. We will likely fly out of Boston. I'm trying to figure out what a good Economy price is and guess if they're going to go down at all. The best mix of times/price (including baggage/meal/seat selection) I've found is around $700/person roundtrip on Delta/KLM with 1 stop in Amsterdam (layovers of 1 hr. 45 min and 1 1/2 hrs.) Do you think we can do any better?

We flew Icelandair out of Minneapolis to Copenhagen for $800/person. We were happy with that rate, but, I would think out of Boston you could do a bit better than $700. Have you tried WOW Airlines? Also, Reykjavik was a nice airport to fly through. It was busy, but small, with very little walking between flights.

PS, are you planning on spending time in Copenhagen b/4 or after your cruise? Copenhagen is a beautiful city rich in history and culture that is easy to navigate via public transportation.

Right now, Wow is $900 roundtrip w/o baggage, etc. Icelandair is $800 w/ baggage, etc. SAS nonstop is $900. Even the cheapest Norwegian Air I can get out of Providence is around $740 w/baggage, etc--and long layovers.

Yes, we're planning to spend 3 nts before and are willing to do 1 nt after if we can't find a good flight after 12:30PM on debarkation day. Looking forward to exploring Copenhagen!

We flew Norwegian Air out of Copenhagen to Fort Lauderdale in May, $200/one way for the upgraded fare that included meal, baggage and seat selection. They fly out of Boston as well. Book on their norwegian.no site with a no foreign transaction fee credit card for cheaper rates, the ones on their US site are calculated at the highest exchange rate versus current rate.

Also, lowest prices were about 5 months before the flight on Norwegian.

For us on Icelandair, it was immediately after the flights became available. We also booked directly on the carrier's website.

The ship returns on Thursday the !6th - around 7:30am. Make sure you have time.

I just booked iceland air for next summer. They had the best fare, but also it includes 1 checked bag per ticket. So, make sure you include the other added fees when picking the airline.

When we did it 2 years ago we went from Tulsa-Dublin, spent a few days there before doing inter-Europe from Dublin to Copenhagen and it was waaaaay cheaper than flying into Copenhagen. The inter-Europe flight was only $50-$60.

Try Dublin, it may cost you maybe $600 from DFW-DUB on AA.

Thanks. Austin is closest but I did look at DFW (3 hr drive) and Houston (4 hr drive) as well with a load of different flight possibilities. AA actually costs more to go from DFW to Dublin (with a stop) than it does from Austin to Copenhagen. I’m good, i’ve booked my flights.

We booked flights from DEN to CPH in march (so 3 months prior) for a June Norwegian fjords cruise- sorta last minute. We paid $525-ish on Lufthansa for the economy seats. I paid a little more to upgrade to economy plus. DH got business class on frequent flyer miles.

DCSWO, I feel your pain. We live in central Texas also. No matter what great air deal I find from the east coast, it costs another $500 to get to that airport first. Makes me crazy.

I'm not sure there's a benefit to booking a year early. I'd go 6 months max, and we sometimes wait until 3 months.

Thanks folks! I just booked economy (main cabin) seats with Delta for $617/person roundtrip. Includes seat selection, 1st checked bag, meal. We connect through JFK, so just a little backtracking from BOS. Flying out on Sunday (landing Monday), flight home is at 3:20PM the Thursday we debark.

Sounds like you ended up doing well - congrats! I always try to balance the fare with the big picture because there are always compromises. I'll only do 1-stop if at all possible, total travel time is a big one, layover time, seat selection, leg room, baggage costs/weight limits - so many things to look at!
