FareReport.com
"FareReport is a free tool that helps travelers save money by providing historical airfare averages on over 6,000 routes. This tool is useful in benchmarking fares, and in finding cheaper alternate routes" (from their site)
I looked this over...its quite interesting. Maybe a little different from some of the others perhaps. Overall, has the same outcome in the end.
I personally prefer to check with Bestfares.com to see what is available with what carrier thru what date. This has worked very well for me in the past. The farewatcher on Travelocity is useful also and remember to check your email everyday...I have also had this work well for me in the past. Be careful though making arrangements on travel 'sites' because sometimes they have serious change fees/cancelllation fees that even the airline itself doesn't have. (be cautious!) I normally always book with the airline directly itself as a rule.
I can't emphasize enough how important it is to shop around. Try all airports within 100 miles from your home...different days of the week (there are certain better days for cheaper travel)...try different flight times...some flights in the earliest part of the day are cheaper.
Do your homework...it should pay off!
Esmerelda <missed her calling..should have been a travel agent..
