Airfare for January 2007

Ok all you DIS travelling experts.

I have POP booked Jan 14-24.

When do I book my air????? I am PHL to MCO.

I have been waiting for SW to release their rates and now that they have they are MORE than Airtran.

Do I wait for a DING or do I wait for another Airtran sale to get even a lower rate???

The outbound time on SW is not great - but I can get a 7am oubound on Airtran.

What do you guys think??

I just checked www.kayak.com for your dates, and there are non-stops, PHL to MCO for $183 r/t. To me, anything under $200, I JUMP at. I fly out of BOS or PVD so not that much further north. You could probably do a little better, but is it worth it, knowing you have to check all the time, etc. If it were me, I'd book the AirTran flights.

You're asking a question that's similar to "when should I buy/sell this stock, today or in three months!"

Airfare is a gamble, just like the stock market..it's based on availability of seats. If you wait, the price may go down. On the other hand, if you wait, the price may go up!

I'm sure at some point AirTran or Southwest will have a sale for less than $99 each way that Airtran currently has. Just last week AirTran had $69 each way for nonstop flights. Also try Spirit out of AC.

I'm also waiting for good rates. Last January we flew Air-tran from Pittsburgh to Orlando for $49.00 each way. For 3 of us it was a little over $300.00 with taxes. So far, no luck in finding this good rate again, so I just waiting!!
