Airbrush makeup?

I heard pro: It stays on longer. Con: It looks really thick. I could be wrong, so I'm interested in what everyone else has to say!

I used airbrush makeup specifically because it doesn't look thick. ;) If it looks thick, they're doing it wrong :rotfl:

I'm a convert, so I can't really think of any cons. It lasted 18 hours, it looked sheer and natural, and it covered some tough blemishes with no caking. It also didn't rub off on anyone!

For a while there was this myth going around that airbrush makeup doesn't last and it's too heavy and only for TV cameras. Apparently some artists use regular foundation instead of specially formulated (and expensive) airbrush makeup, and that's why they get those results. I've had it done 3 times now and loved it every time. Heck, she even hit DH with a couple blasts from the airbrush, and he couldn't even tell he had it on! :cutie:

Carrie, does the airbrush makeup take the same amount of time to apply, or is it quicker or slower?

I'm using Crystal off the list that Disney sends and she does airbrush. My wedding is next Saturday so i'll let you know how it looks!

I would say it's about the same or slightly quicker. In fact, I had regular makeup and airbrush makeup done in the space of about 3 days a couple weeks ago, and I didn't notice a difference in the amount of time it took.

This is good to know. I have lots of blemishes and I am worried they won't be covered up.

I just had my make-up/hair trial with Patricia LeJeune this past weekend and she informed me that the airbrush make-up was sweat and tear proof....another good reason to use the airbrush method:thumbsup2

Also, as an avid user of foundation, I must say that the airbrush make-up felt much lighter than my day-to-day liquid foundation.

I just want to clear something up for Ana. I know she isn't against airbrush and she WILL do airbrush, she just doesn't believe that it is needed for bridal make up and thinks that it is best to use in a controlled environment, like a studio. She asked me to explain that once the airbrush make up is on, it is very hard to touch up and so if you cry, sweat, blow your nose, etc then you will automatically take some of the make up layers off and the only way to touch it up is to remove that little area and re-airbrush it again. She said that you can't even powder your face for touch ups once it's on. She also said that since she cares about her job she doesn't recommend it for her brides, but that is just her personal opinion. She does offer it, and if it is wanted, she will do it. She also added that she believes that doing airbrush is the lazy way of applying make up as there is no blending, it is just sprayed on, and there are so many foundations on the market that get you the "airbrush" look without it being airbrushed. She said she is still very old school. Not against it in what she believes are the right situations.

Ok, so which is it? Does it or does it not rub off? :confused3

No idea! :) Sorry, just passing on Ana's opinion that she's not against it. I have never used it, and I'm no make up artist! :) However, Lurkyloo looked beautiful :)

Yes, Ana uses MAC.

No flames, please ~ Ana just asked me to pass on HER opinion. I have no idea.

Oh I am glad she uses MAC!! That is great make-up. I have seen her work and its fantastic. I have no worries that she knows what she is talkng about! :goodvibes

She's just great. I loved what she did to me. If she lived here I'd hire her everyday, I swear!

I just talked to Ana, she also said she forgot to mention that...

...the airbrush is transferable, as any other. It is sweatproof and water resistant and this is why she uses the make up sealer for other make ups, it gives the same finish as the airbrush. It will rub off if you rub it off, it doesn't rub off on its own. Same with regular make up. It will rub off if you rub it off.

There you are!
