Has anyone seen any way to save or get discounts on AirBnB?

I am just curious if there were any ways to save before booking?

I have never used AirBnB but I have an account I created when I was looking at beach homes (never booked). So when I try the $40 code that I found on different sites, it says I am not eligible. I have no idea why I am not eligible because I have never booked a place. Just window shopping.

Uber does the same thing, you have to use the code upon creating the account, even if you never took a ride before.'

The $40 referral credit is only for people who haven’t signed up with Airbnb before. You can refer some of your own friends to Airbnb, though!
