Hi, a couple of questions:-
1. Would a double airbed fit comfortably on the floor of a studio?
2. Can you buy one that self-inflates/deflates.(and if so, would Walmart on 192 sell them?)
Thanks...

I think the only place a double sized would fit is on the pullout sofa bed. A single would fit in the entyway nicely according to a thread here a couple months ago. You may want to do a search for it.

I recently purchased an Eddie Bauer brand single air bed at Wallmart (or was it Target ?) anyway, a fraction of the cost of an Aerobed, with all the specifications. It didn't have a custom fitted matress pad, but I bought a nice padded cotton one for 17 bucks and it works great.. Even fits in the carrying bag too. I personally slept on it for three nights and it was the best sleep!

If I recall correctly, the EB brand single, with a mattress pad, and 4 batteries was less than half of what the box price of the same sized aerobed.

I checked Walmart web site.. they don't carry the EB brand but do have a aerobed queen size for $78.42. Looks bare boned though. amazon.com has the EB single at a good price, check the link.

Good luck.

We've put a single airbed between the bed and the pullout sofa and it just fits. I know a double wouldn't fit there.

We've used a single aerobed before in a studio and we had plenty of room. The only place I can think of for a double would be in front of the bathroom sink and it would be tight. You would also have to step over it to get to the potty. We placed the single in the entry way going towards the door. Fit just right. The aerobeds are great, very easy and quick to set up and take down. I'm glad we bought it, it has come in handy several times, even at home. I'm for the aerobed brand. You can shop around online and get a pretty good deal. Try overstock.com I think? I've heard some having problems with other brands.

A full sized air mattress fits in the entry area of the studios at BWV and BCV, we've used ours there several times.

Excuse this limey but:-
What is the difference between an 'airbed' and an 'aerobed'?
Is one self-inflating and the other not?

I wanted one that wasn't too much effort to put up and that I could buy on our 1st day over there in August.

I only asked about a 'double' so as my 15yr old could spread out a bit, but I guess a single would be ok.(Our 13 yr old daughter will be on the pull-out),
We are at the Beach Club(studio) for a week and then SSR(1br).
Thanks for the replies,
Steve....

Steve...Aerobed is a brand name of a company that makes air beds.

Air bed, or air mattress is the generic term for an inflatable mattress. Air mattresses, in general, are inflated via a power source and small motor.

Aerobeds are regarded as high quality but are very pricy, IMHO. We bought a different brand and it works fine. My only suggestion is to find one that rapidly inflates (30 seconds or so) and rapidly deflates. Also one that plugs into the wall. Many of the air mattresses have rechargeable batteries for camping, which we don't need.

I have a full size that can be folded to a twin and it works great. It will fit, though tight as full in WLV, I have not tried it anywhere else. Since it doubles over, I don't worry about it working to sleep one (DD and DS are just too old to share a bed now) in any of the DVC resorts. Oh, that reminds me I'd better pull that out of the closet so I don't forget it!
