Just recently noticed that Air Transat flight times have changed. This summer all out going flights from YYZ to MCO depart at 6:30 a.m. Guess we won't be getting any sleep the night before!

We are staying at WDW from July 2 to 16th and would like to fit in a day trip to the beach. I heard Fort Lauderdale is nice. What public beach can we go to ? Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Thanks for posting, I just noticed this as well. Did your TA advise you or how did you find out?

Just note that it is 212 miles from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale, probably at least 3.5 hour drive. Might try some beaches around Daytona, New Smyrna Beach just over an hour away.

It looks like air transat doesn't fly on the weekends (direct to MCO anyway). Is there any other charter (Skyservice-expensive) that does?

We got a call today from Air Transat advising us of the time changes for our flights in June. They also changed our return time from 5:20pm to 10:40am. Guess we'll be moving our last day lunch PS to our first day! heh

mom_rules, I believe CanJet flies on Saturdays starting June 19 (out of YHM anyway.. not sure where else they depart). Also, I pretty sure Jetsgo has Saturday flights (from YYZ). With the problems we've had with Air Transat, I wish we'd booked with one of them. Ah well, live and learn I guess.

I didn't get a call from anyone, Air Transat or my TA. I called them to verify that my flight had been affected. Maybe because my departure is farther away they didn't bother.

The new flight time doesn't bother me too much. I seem to recall the last time I took this same flight we had to be at the airport at 5:00 not 3 hours before....can someone else confirm this?

How about a charter that flies on Sunday (from MCO to YYZ or Hamilton?)

tmli: I found out by visting the Air Transat website. I called my TA and she said that she didn't receive any info on the schedule change. Guess who called back the next day?! I was right. I don't mind the time change. The adults will be okay...but the kids will feel it.
I believe you should be at the airport 2-3hrs before. We're travelling with another family and would like to sit close to each other, so I think if we're there by 4:15 we'll be okay.

As for the beach...I've been to Daytona and New Smyrna before. I thought we'd try something new....but I'm not sure I'm up for a 3 1/2 hr drive. Really 3 1/2 hrs???

What about Melbourne or Cocoa Beach, Titusville etc?
Anyone been? It looks like it might only be about an hour or so drive?

The last time I took this flight we were there at 4:30 and the AT desk hadn't even opened yet and there was nobody in line. So I'm thinking 4:30 but you'll have to let me know how it goes for you.

Our flight in April left at 7 am so we thought to be at the airport by 4:00 - the checkin desks did not open until 4:30am. I think the only other line up was AT for the 6:30 am flight and their desk wasn't open either.
