Has anyone used this airline carrier? What is you review?
I see many flights have a stop in Atlanta. I've found Atlanta to have lots of weather issues. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks! :flower3:

For the last few years this the only airline I have really used. Not had any problems up to this point. Do the layover in Altanta all the time. I like the company and their prices are not bad, except you do need to pay for baggage.

We have flown them often and never had a problem with them. You may hear complaints from people about them changing flight times often, but I have encountered this less with AT than with other airlines. Plus they are good about changing your flight times without additional costs if they change your flight time.

I would avoid Atlanta if you can. I know from my airport, they offer on non-stop to DW per day and it doesn't cost anymore than the flight with 1 stop so why are the other flights so full :confused3.

You need to account for luggage (most airlines) and seat assignments (important if sitting together is important for you).

I only fly air tran between DFW and MCO. No issues yet. But they only do one non stop per day... the flight there leave here at 8pm, and the flight leaving there leaves like 8am.
Atlanta is a central hub for most of their flights, so more than likely you'd have to fly through it. They're making orlando a new hub, so hopefully they'll have more direct flights to orlando soon.

I've never had any issues with the early checkin online, up to 24hrs prior to departure. So you'll more than likely be able to get seats together. Usually the front few rows and exit rows will fill up with people that are willing to pay for the seat assignment.

keep an eye out for coupons floating around. Last year they offered 25$ off any flights to florida.

We've used them for the past 6 years since USAir stopped the non-stop flights to MCO. Never had a problem. They do change times sometimes but usually only by hours or minutes. Once I didn't get the email the flight time changed (bought tickets in Apr for Sept) and we got to the airport late for our flight...they got us on the next one which was non-stop and the one we really wanted but couldn't get for the internet special! Never had a problem with Airtran.

I always fly AirTran. Several years ago they started a nonstop flight out of my home town airport to Orlando so we always take that. There has only been one time where my flight was cancelled because of a storm on the East coast and all the planes were stranded. AirTran called me in the middle of the night prior to the flight to let me know it was cancelled and to get me on another flight.

We flew nonstop last year from DFW to MCO. The only problem we had was our return flight time kept getting bumped later and later. Originally we were flying home at 5 pm and it was bumped to past 8pm. I got at least 6 notifications that the time had changed. That was fine since we had planned to visit Downtown Disney the last day and wanted to see a movie. Once we were at MCO to fly home the time changed for a final time and we took off an hour later than expected.

All that being said... I have just purchased 3 plane tickets from Air Tran for our trip this December. We are the first and last flight nonstop between DFW and MCO. I am actually hoping our return flight gets pushed later so we have more time our last day! Right now we are scheduled to fly home @ 8 pm.

Use Airtran all the time out of ATL going to MCO or PBI ( Palm Beach International). They have good sale prices and have coupons out there all the time. The Little Debbie $10 vouchers are still available, go to littledebbie.com and sign up for the contest. I also like that Airtran allows my 14 year old frequent flyer DS to fly unaccompanied without charging the fee. Delta wants to charge me $100 each way in addition to the ticket price for a 14 year old to fly from ATL to PBI. Crazy. He flies Airtran every 2-3 months to grandpa's house.

The last time I flew home from Dallas, my aunt told me she wanted me to purchase the tickets for her and my g'mother to come down. When I got on the flight, it said any tickets purchased during this flight will get 5$ off. Well cell phones can't access airtran.com through the gogo internet service for free like a computer. So I got off the flight, called customer service, and they said they would credit me back the discount after I book online.
Got home, booked 4 flights using the little debbie code, then called and got the 5$ discount. Saved 60$ that way.
I've also noticed that their prices don't change much either, maybe 10 dollars one way or the other. I fly out to Dallas for about 74-84$ each way. Of course close to booking prices can be up a little bit. But with the majority of flights going in and out of atlanta, it's still easy to get a good fare.

We have had no trouble with Airtran, I wouldn't hesitate to fly them again. :thumbsup2 I do try to avoid layovers in ATL, not so much because of the weather, but that dang airport is just HUGE!!!

Ours our opposite. Our flight down leaves at 7am and the flight home leaves at 8:30 right now. In the past the flight home has varied from 5-8 pm.

Based on all the advise, we will look into using them for our upcoming trip! ;)

weather: try to avoid flying into Atl. in late afternoon during the summer. It's the most likely time you'll run into weather/thunderstorm delays.

As for AT, my dh flies with them weekly; never a problem.

Another :thumbsup2 for AirTran. We've been flying them from BWI to MCO for years with great prices. All staff very pleasant, planes are clean. Recently started flying them for business too.

We switched from Midwest(now Frontier) to Airtran several years ago. I never have had any problems except for them changing my flight several times. I booked about 6 months out and they changed both my flights several times. You always have the right to refuse that however. We opt for the direct flightsa and they are a pretty good value.

I've flown them twice. They did change my flight times, but I was able to change it again to a time that worked even better. Also, if memory serves you have the option to pay extra and choose your own seats ahead of time. Otherwise, your entire party could potentially get separate seats all over the plane.

We travel Air Tran all the time back and forth to Orlando. Flight times are good and we have always been happy.

I was just out on the Little Debbie Site looking for the savings vouchers and I do not see them.

Anyone know the specifics on them right now? Like how much, when do you have to book by and when do you need to fly by?

I think I remember reading that the vouchers come the next day or two but as I remember when I received them last year you got them right away. Also, maybe it recognizes my email address.

Your thoughts please.

Thanks,
Becky

Lots of direct flights between Indianapolis and Orlando. Competitive rates. We go back and forth 8 to 10 times a year so we also got the AirTran credit card to earn AirTran miles. Have never had an issue with delays or lost luggage (weather doesn't count against the airline). Can check in at your resort with AirTran, boarding passes and luggage. We keep all our stuff in Orlando (Kississimmee) so only travel with carry on, though. I recommend AirTran. Now United Airlines is another issue ...... have had two major problems with United in the past, all airline issues totally within their control.
