yay, I get to go back to Dallas again. Well I have 6 credits built up, and 1 credit expiring soon on the 4th.

My aunt, grandmother, and mom have flown airtran as well, and have a few credits earned. So I was thinking of paying the 20$ per credit transfer to add them to my account. It takes 8 credits for a one way flight.

How far in advance do I need to book the flight?? Does it matter the cost of the flight?? All my flights were from MCO to DFW and only about 80$ each way, this time I'm flying from California and it's going to cost twice as much each way. Do I have to use the flight before the credit expires or just get the ticket before the credit expires??

I found some good deals on Southwest, but if I can get a flight for 40$, that'd be pretty awesome too.

I tried waiting on hold but gave up after about a 1/2hr. There was a recording stating that there were some flight delays or cancellations and were trying to work quickly. But I haven't watched the news in ages to know if anything is actually going on to cause that.

It doesn't matter the cost of the flight IF there are rewards flights available - not all seats are available as rewards seats. What you need to do is get on as if you are going to redeem reward travel and you can see if there are flights taht fit your needs.

Frankly I use my credits for business class upgrades - I find it more practical as it's sometimes hard to get just what I want with the reward travel.

Booking from Cali to Dallas, I can fly on the 30th. If it was orlando to dallas, there's a ton of flights to choose from every day.

I'd hate to see the points expire, but it looks like they just might. The flights out of here are at insane times, and only from San Fran which is almost 2hrs away, since they did away with the Frontier partnership it seems.

Rather than let the points expire you can donate them - I have done that before - I think it was to Give Kids the World.

that's a cool idea. Didn't know that existed, of course it's not published on the main page of the site either.
