Hi everyone,

I had enough Air Miles to get 2 - 5 day WDW adult passes and thought I should grab them now, rather than waiting to have enough for our 2 child passes so I can be sure to secure the 25% discount and avoid total miles required going up.

A quick question I am hoping you can clarify...my understanding is that the vouchers need to be exchanged at the actual WDW parks for tickets. This will obviously happen when we are on-site. Is there a way to add these vouchers to My Disney Experience the way you would with the little plastic credit card things I got last time I ordered passes directly from Disney? It is very important to me to be able to do my Fast Pass+ reservations at the 60 day mark (we are staying on-site) in advance of our trip, and I think you need to add your passes to MDE in order to do that.

Thanks for your help!!!!

Brandy

Quick answer here is YES they will link to your account, you can find more details in a one of the other threads. I'm not at home or I'd give you more details, but wanted you to know you can go ahead and redeem whenever you have enough for each pass!!

My airmiles Disney tickets came as tickets.. not vouchers. They were the same RFD hard plastic ticket as you would get if you bought it at the parks. Are they vouchers now? The last one I got was in August. I'm just about to order another one.

(ETA, and yes, they worked the same as any ticket to add to MDE and I had no issue making fastpasses the last time I used them.)

I *think* someone on the thread about the discounted tickets mentioned that the most recent ticket the received was a voucher but hey, i've been mistaken before :P

It could be that airmiles is utilizing the current 25% off deal for Canadians and that would be why the point value went down.
Those tickets come as vouchers, so I assume if Airmiles bought these tickets, they will be vouchers now too.
I'll know soon enough.. fingers crossed for good airmiles deals this weekend so I can get to my next ticket.:goodvibes

Thanks everyone for your responses! I just want to be sure that the voucher is something that can link into MDE :)

I got a voucher. I ordered on November 1 (shortly after the points drop) and just got it earlier this week, so be sure to leave plenty of time.

Were you able to add the voucher to your MDE?

I also had to wait for this voucher to arrive. Was quite disappointed to get a voucher as AM has not discounted the miles by 25%, but the value of the ticket is 25% lower. I use the value of the ticket toward renewal of AP's, so this is costing me more than getting a normal ticket. Tried pleading my case to AM, asking them to credit me the 400+ AM's that they SHOULD have taken off the current price, but they wouldn't go for it. As an aside, I tried to link the voucher to my account, but it wouldn't work, so I had to call in to WDW and get them to do it.

But WDW was able to do it for you? I am sorry about your trouble with your AP renewal :(

When did you order the tickets? I would compare with @mab2012 who just mentioned doing this after the drop in required Airmiles and if your order date was similar and you did in fact need to use more Airmiles, I would be raising bloody heck! Use the on-line chat, call, whatever, and escalate the request until someone is able to credit those miles, in my mind you're well within your rights to be pissed!

It was just after they put the tickets on sale.

Yes.

Off hand do you know how many miles you redeemed to get your passes? we got 5 day passes in July and it *cost* 3,550 per ticket. They are now showing as 2,950 per ticket.
SO if you were *charged* 3,550 you should have received the hard credit card type ticket
If you were *charged* 2,950 you should have received the exchange vouchers.

Chase it down if you didn't get the correct ticket media based on what they *charged you*!

Thanks for the concern, but I was "charged" the sale price.

URGH, that's beyond annoying and flat-out wrong in that case! I'd be on them till they made it right, but that's just the right-hand image of my siggy coming out to play!!!
I'm confused here. I am reading what bgula is saying to mean that they did get the ticket at the reduced airmiles amount but that it's not reduced by as many airmiles as it is dollars. So they aren't passing on the full savings value to any of us. Not that they charged the old airmiles amount and sent a discounted voucher.
I might be wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time.:duck:

GOOD catch! Proof that the Duck needs a tad more sleep these days :rolleyes1

Since i have more than enough trouble with Disney Math and I'm simply too lazy to LEARN Airmiles Math to combine the 2 and come up with might be a logical answer is futile. Sorry i added to the confusion

LOL don't forget exchange in there somewhere too. It's all just a mess isn't it?

Yes, AM should be charging 2831 AM for the 7-day ticket, not 3250. They are not passing on the 25% savings of the Canadian offer. As such, I had asked for the 400+ AM to be credited to me, but they wouldn't go for it. It basically means that I'm paying $40 more when I use the ticket at DW than I should be. Which means that I'll be waiting for the "sale" to end before I purchase anymore AM tickets.
