Air Miles WDW Vouchers

Yes, AM should be charging 2831 AM for the 7-day ticket, not 3250. They are not passing on the 25% savings of the Canadian offer. As such, I had asked for the 400+ AM to be credited to me, but they wouldn't go for it. It basically means that I'm paying $40 more when I use the ticket at DW than I should be. Which means that I'll be waiting for the "sale" to end before I purchase anymore AM tickets.

How annoying! The Disneyland tickets (at least the 3 day adult ones) are correctly discounted. I bought a 3 day DL hopper in July for 3175 AM, that same ticket today is 2400 AM. 3175 discounted by 25% would be 2381, which is close enough for me.

How much were the 7 day WDW tickets before the discount?

But the 7 day ticket with the 25% off for Canadians comes out to $295.54 with taxes. That's in American. So let's assume we exchange with RBC's current rate calculator. It would cost $400.84 Canadian for that 7 day ticket. Airmiles isn't even charging the full exchange on the ticket and it's by far the better deal. I don't see how it is costing you $40 more. It's not a straight conversion for the tickets into airmiles because one is priced in USD. We "pay" way less on the airmiles ticket, even when it isn't discounted than we would buying it off the Disney site.

I'll use pre-tax numbers as I don't feel like adding the taxes. These are all US dollars. A normal 7-day ticket is worth $370. The Canadian discount ticket is worth $277.50 - a difference of $92.50.
A normal 7-day ticket is 3775 airmiles. A 25% discounted ticket should be worth 2831 AM - a difference of 944 airmiles. So roughly, $10 per 100 AM. AM didn't discount the 25%, only partial, leaving a difference of 419 AM, or roughly $40. I'm still going to have to make up the extra $92.50 when I exchange my ticket at DW, but I equate it to losing ~$40 as I'm out that many airmiles in my account. Make sense now?
I'm much better waiting for the sale to end as the ticket I get will be worth more on exchange at the ticket window.

I can see what you aresaying. I think it's just a matter of how we look at it. Airmiles is not discounting the extra 25% off their ticket and you feel they should. And I think that it's already so much "cheaper" to get it through airmiles because of the exchange they aren't charging us, that it's still a win.

On a related note, if one "bridges" (uses the ticket to go through the gate at least once) the Canadian 25% off ticket, does it bring it up to current gate price for the purposes of an upgrade, or does it still reflect the 25% discount?

It's an exchange ticket, so I doubt I'll even see a real ticket. They'll know it's the Canadian deal, so they'll give me what it's worth for Canadians. I'll find out for sure in a couple of weeks, but that's what I'm expecting. I can certainly ask the CM before I do anything.
