We are going to book either Saratoga or OKW soon....renting points.

What is the policy...IF there is an official policy...about putting an air mattress to accommodate a sixth (child) person?

The various sites are all over the place on the air mattress question..........

Each unit has a max occupancy number some allow you to add another person who could sleep on your own mattress.

:earsboy: Bill

If the individual is under 3 years old then they don't count towards room occupancy - which is the only way you could get 6 in a room that sleeps 5. . You can check out davids dvc ( a rental company) their site has a good chart which tells you what the room occupancy is, but there are still some 1BR that can sleep 5 but there is only real bedding for 4 ( so you do need to bring a bed/air mattress for the 5th person).

Here is a link that gives a good explanation

disney vacation club villas guest occupancy guidelines guess i can't post this site, but if you just put this in as google search it should bring up a good website that gives an explanation for each resorts occupancy.

So if all 6 are adults the only room that would fit your party would be a 2 bedroom unit.

If you are booking an OKW studio, you are limited to four persons aged 3 or older and one under the age of three. An OKW one bedroom is five person, three or older, plus one more under the age of three. If your sixth person is six yrs old, you need a two bedroom. SSR is similar, but the one bedroom only has sleeping spaces for four people, but they may allow you a fifth person aged three or older (but you provide towels, sheets, bed for the fifth person). If you have six people aged three or older at SSR, you also need a two bedroom villa.

If you have children under the age of three, only one will not count towards occupancy. For example, two year old triplets - two count, one doesn't.

We have done a small air mattress for one of the kids, but we did not exceed the room max. There were 4 of us and the room max was 4. With 2 beds available, and our kids not sharing beds well, we brought the air mattress for our youngest so he and his brother could have separate sleeping spaces. Nobody said anything to us - but it was a small child size one.

I don’t know about an official air mattress policy, but the official policy on a 6th person ages 3 or over is the room must accommodate 6. They can kick you out for not following it, and you wouldn’t be able to book fastpasses for everyone 60 days in advance if you exceeded the room capacity. What size place are you renting and what is the age of the 6th person?

If you try to put 6 people in a room that officially sleeps 5 and they are all over the age of 3, you will have problems. First of all, the computers will not allow you to have 6 names on a room reservation with occupancy for 5. If you decide to just leave someone off the reservation and "sneak them in", you could run into problems. They can't book FP+ until 30 days out. They will not get a MagicBand and if they did, it cannot be linked to the reservation to use a room key because they are not listed as a guest. They could not have a dining plan or access to the credits. They would not be able to board the Magical Express bus at the airport because they are not a resort guest and therefore not entitled to a ride from Disney. With daily security checks, it would be very easy for Disney to realize that you are over the occupancy and they could readily evict you and abruptly end your stay.

Can it be done? Sure. Is it worth the hassle and risk? IMHO...not even a little bit.

So to answer your question...
Studio: No, under no circumstances can a 6th person be in the room.
1BR: Yes, IF the 6th person is under age 3 and must be listed on the reservation
2BR or larger: Yes

I don't believe this to be true -- The following studios can sleep 5 - poly, BC, BW, BRV - so with an additional individual under the age of 3 could be a 6th person.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but if a child under 3 they don't count towards room occupancy then you could potentially have 6 in those listed studios --would it be fun to cram that many people into one room? -- heck no! but it could be done. My last stay at a BW studio with just myself and a friend with luggage and the couch/bed pulled out there doesn't leave much room for a pack n play

You are correct.

I was directing my response to the OP who stated that they were renting points at either OKW or SSR:flower3:.
