air mattress questions

I'm wondering if air mattresses are allowed in Disney hotel rooms, and if so, is there enough room for one? We have 4 people in our group, my mom and dad, and my DD (8) and me. I am leaning towards WL (though this changes every 5 minutes), but it would be a stretch budget wise and I don't think we could do another $100 per night for a bunk bed room. I'd really like to stay at either a MK or Epcot resort.

My darling daughter, who is ever so calm and well behaved during the day, turns into a crazed animal when she is sleeping. I have had the unfortunate experience of sharing a bed with her a few times, and I get NO sleep and literally wake up bruised. I've tried putting pillows down the middle of the bed to no avail. So when we all have to share a hotel room, I generally bring her aerobed to sleep in. It is toddler sized, so it's pretty small, but I know some of the Disney rooms are tight.

I've looked into the possibility of BC or BW where they have rooms for 5, but I've also read that they don't guarantee the 5 person capacity rooms if there are only 4 in your party. So anyway, long question short- would there be room for a very small air mattress at WL? And would it break any fire codes?

As long as you are not exceeding room capacity you are fine having an air mattress.

As long as you have 4 people booked in the room you wouldn't be breaking any fire codes.

However, our experience has been that the regular WL rooms are probably the smallest rooms of all the deluxe WDW resorts. You could probably fit a small air mattress near the sliders out to the balcony, and maybe between the beds, but that means anyone getting out of bed would have to be sure not to step on her. If you put it between the beds, I would suggest bringing a night lite and put it near the sink to get some illumination in the room, for safety reasons.

I think if we could squeeze one near the balcony that would work out fine, but putting it in between the beds does sound like a bit of a pain. I'm not completely set on WL, but it does seem awfully convenient. Also, my DD is very outdoorsy/woodsy type kid, so I think she would love the theming. I may look into renting DVC points and see if we could get something a little bigger.

Thanks for the help!

We used an air mattress at the Poly and it worked our great. We were traveling with my mom and I didn't want to share a bed with either of my younger kids (both rock and roll quite a bit at night) We actually had to come up with a schedule of who slept on the air mattress on what night.

During the day we folded the blankets and put them on the daybed and leaned the air mattress against the wall by the bed so it wasn't in our way (or in the way of mousekeeping) Mousekeeping was happy to provide us with an extra set of bedding

We've used an air mattress in a room at Pop Century as well as a suite at AoA. My sister used one in a room at POR. I don't think you'll have much trouble using one in a room at Wilderness Lodge. At Pop Century we just moved the table and chairs to create a more "out of the way" spot for the mattress. My sister did the same thing at POR. During the day we'd lean the mattress against the wall so it wasn't taking up so much floor space.

I just bought a self-inflatable 2.5 inch thick camping mattress for just this reason. Both of my children are kickers, so I will gladly keep on the mattress rather than not sleep at all! We will be in an AKL studio room.
