Debating on getting a basket air fryer or an oven one.
Which type do you use and what about a good brand that is reasonably priced?

I like the oven idea to be able to toast so I can put away the toaster. Not sure if they are big enough tho for other foods.

I have a grill/air fryer and an oven/air fryer (both Ninja). I've only used the air fryer feature on the oven. I did put my toaster away and like that the Ninja oven folds up. It isn't tall (so you can't cook a whole chicken in it) but it does fit a pizza which is what mine gets used for a lot. I've had mine about 20 months and use it a ton. The main things I air fry are chicken nuggest and fries (for the kids) and chicken parmasean.

I have a basket one. There are just 2 of us, so it is a great size. I can see how the larger one would be better if you have a bigger family because things like fries cook much better if you can put them in a single layer.

I have the large cuisinart one. It does take up some counter space due to its size. But, the large size also means you can air fry a lot at the same time. I didn’t want a basket one due to having to air fry multiple loads of food.

My cuisinart one is used everyday. Multiple times. I hardly use my oven or microwave anymore.

I also have a Cuisinart AF/Toaster oven combination and I love it. I had add basket type before and it didn’t have enough room for us and we are only two people. The Cuisinart toasts well and is big enough for a whole chicken! It is expensive but I bought mine at Kohl’s with a coupon and got Kohl’s Cash to use on something else.

We have a decent sized basket style we love it. I've cooked grilled cheese in it before and honestly I don't like the way it toasts the bread so I never tried for actual toast. It almost turns it into a super crunchy, dry crouton that crumbles.

We do make things that normally we make in the oven tho, I make french toast (be careful not to overcook), fries/tots/chicken nuggets, bacon, sausage, etc. We still have our toaster out tho LOL

My wife got one last at the start of the pandemic and we really enjoy it. We make everything from chicken wings to reheated pizza they are well worth it

I had a basket type one, and then got the Ninja Flip for Christmas. I LOVE my Ninja. We rarely use our regular oven now; we just fix everything in the Flip. It flips up (hence the name) and takes up less space. It does 7 features but I admit we only bake and air fry in ours.

I have a Phillips XL. It was pricey, $300 about two years ago but I had gift certificates so that helped. It's a very good air fryer.

I have the Pampered Chef one and we use it constantly. I even make fruit roll ups in it.

Me too - use it daily as well.

We have the Ninja oven that folds up. It's really a great appliance. We got ours at Costco on a sale in the $150 range. I think it's regularly $180ish.

We've warmed up, toasted, baked and air fried. My favorite was cooking frozen tilapia that you get in a bag from Sams or Costco and DD put some herbs and grated cheese on it.
Turned out really delicious. I should say she thawed it out first. She also cooked potato wedges, chicken tenderloins, asparagus. It gets used every day, mostly by daughter, and I'm happy to eat her creations (so long as I don't have to cook!) It's excellent for reheating pizza slices or whatever you have.

We have a Ninja Foodi 5-in-1. The five appliances in one include an air fryer, which my partner uses all the time. I've used the grill. It's a bit large but super-handy!

Incidentally, Consumer Reports just reviewed air fryers. The highest-rated is the Gourmia GAF686 Digital.

We started with a small basket type but quickly realized it was too small. So my DH bought me the emeril air fryer oven from the infomercial.
We love it use it everyday. I like that it doubled as a toaster oven because I hate heating up the whole kitchen for a $2 dollar pizza.

I have this one (but I think mine is the 6 in 1). I love the grill function.

We have the Emeril one also.
It's good I guess. It has a lot of options besides just airfrying.
We got it as a gift. I wasn't looking to get one, but we have used it a lot.
It is really big though. Would take up too much space on my small counter but is also a pain to take out every time I use it.

I just have a basket style... for me it works great... I have a huge pantry, with a ton of storage, so I don't have to worry about counter space. So I don't have to leave it out...

I mostly make chicken wings, potato wedges, and did make some pork chops, you have to really watch you don't over cook the pork... I did have pretty good luck with using chicken thighs and legs, for dinner for just DH and I...

I've really been wanting one (cuisinart or Ninja) but hesitating due to small kitchen and space worries..... I suppose I could return it if too huge to fit... what brands are best?

I was hesitant to get one too because we have almost no counter space, but we use it so much it is 100% worth the real estate it takes on the counter.
