I did not see this answered in the WDW ticket FAQ but I want to confirm what the CM told me on the phone.

I am an AF civilian employee. We can purchase discount tickets (9 day MYW) at a discount about the same as the YES program. This would save us quite a bit of money.

The CM on the phone told me I would only get a voucher though, and not actual tickets to input into MDE, therefore could not schedule FP+ at the 60+ (or even 30+) day window.

Can someone please confirm?

We bought ours yesterday at a AF base. The lady said they take about 2 weeks to come in.
I asked if she had our ticket numbers to book our FP+. She made a sad face and say nope. We have to wait for them to come in to do that.

We are active duty so I am not sure how the civilian side works.

My last trip in October we ordered as AF civilians. Took two weeks like pp and we didn't have a voucher. Had to wait for the actual tickets to come in. I do think ours came a little before two weeks but i don't remember exactly.

But that was going in through the tickets and tours office on base. I didn't know you can order them on the phone.

The salute ticket vouchers can be scanned and assigned to individuals on the account, then fps can be scheduled. Try scanning them when you get them to see if they work the same.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing but DH is Department of Defense Civilian, and we got discounted park tickets through the Naval Base where he works. They estimated 2-3 weeks for them to come in, but it was actually closer to a week. We were then able to input them and do FP+.

I thought for military you got the voucher because the discount is much more significant, and you actually have to go and pick them up so you can show your active or retired military ID. But since you're civilian I would think it would work the same way ours did. You just will have to wait for the tickets to come in.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I think the well meaning CM must have not understood the difference between civilian tickets and military because she also mentioned only get 4/5 days not 9. I'm heading over to the ticket office this afternoon, confirming they send actual tickets and not vouchers, and changing my reservation to 25% room only discount! Woohoo!

We have never found WDW tickets at the base to be a huge savings. Some savings, but not much. It's been a few years since we have bought them there, but they were actual tickets.

The civilian tickets save TAXES. They are the cheapest non-military/non-YES program tickets available to civilians however that I have found. And I've always been able to add them to the MDE site. (I'm a DoD Navy Civilian and have purchased AP's and regular WDW tickets).

Unfortunately, the active duty military tickets are not able to be scanned into MDE, but they do offer a significant discount.

The $168 salute ticket vouchers can be scanned. I just did this at the end of March for a trip in late April. I linked each voucher to a member of my party and selected fast passes for everyone. When the voucher is exchanged, the fps transfer to the newly activated ticket.

So is DH! At the Naval Academy.

Off Disney prices for 7 day hopper we saved about $100 for 2. Off undercover tourist maybe $50. That's at least a days worth of food for us! Definitely worth it.

Not sure this will help but it may work similarly,

I just bought the 4 day salute tickets and received vouchers. On the back bottom left there is a code. Enter that code into MDE to link the tickets, it should work just fine. You will still have to exchange them before entering the park, but the voucher should suffice for FP+ booking.

This works as of the day before yesterday.

I got my salute tickets at tickets and tours on base, put the number on the back into MDE, and have all my fast passes already scheduled. When we get there we will go to DTD and activate them. No problem.
