HI ALL,

MY HUBBY USED TO BE AN EMPLOYEE WITH BA.WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THE FLIGHTS THAT ARE LONG HAUL COULD BE ON THE RISE BY AS MUCH AS £40.THIS IS DUE TO THE PRICE OF CRUDE OIL BEING THE HIGHEST ITS EVER BEEN.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FLIGHT ONLY BE QUICK AS IT LOOKS LIKE ITS THIS WEEK!!!

BA HAVE ALREADY ADDED A FUEL SURCHARGE THIS WEEK!!!

NICK N SARA :confused3

Its only a "£16" rise for long haul. BA has already got a £32 flight supplement for long hall (other airlines have similar in place) which they have had for a long time. Of course, if the price of oil keeps rising there is always the possibility that the supplement will rise again. :sad2:

Believe it or not, nations that rely on oil revenue are very worried about the high price of oil. This is because if the price remains high the cost of alternative fuels becomes economical. Once this happens, technological advances will then occur more quickly making them even more economical, resulting in the oil "drinking" nations becoming less reliant on the oil producers.

So there is a good side to the present expensive oil; hopefully our short term pain will give us our long term gain.

It will be interesting how the "west" treats the middle east, if and when this happens.

The fuel supplement will only apply to new bookings from tomorrow (27th). Existing bookings will not have to pay the increase.

Andy

Thank you :)

Richard, I agree with your post entirely :)
