Air fare cost from California to Florida

I am hoping to spend a couple days at DL in February before heading to WDW for 2 weeks. I am booking flights with reward points and I can get to California and back to Alberta, no problem, but I cannot get any flights to MCO. What is the cheapest airfare I could get from LAX/MCO return?

It's not cheap...I know my flight from NYC is almost around 400/500ish compared to when I go from NYC to Florida which is 180. I hope you get a good price

On my recent trip from SNA to MCO it was about $200 each way using Southwest.

Jetblue has flights from Long Beach to MCO starting from $165 each way, albeit with a stopover in Austin.

From San Francisco to Orlando it was 500 dollars a person round trip. We are flying next week but bought the tickets 5 months ago. I am sure lax is similar costs

One advantage of Southwest is you can check bags for free, but they don't fly direct. If you book right when the window opens, and it probably is already for February you can pay $149-$180 each way on JetBlue, Virgin America, American or US Air. Maybe Delta or Alaska. Look into flying out of LGB. Do you have to do round trip from Alberta? That's pretty far to go back to LA to fly home. You could do 1 way to MCO and then return home from somewhere else.

Using the Google tool above, I looked at MCO, ORL, SFB, DAB, MLB to LGB, ONT, SNA, LAX and found 12 flights from the Orlando area to the Anaheim area, for under $450 round trip. Many were direct MCO to LAX, 3 were non-stop. MCO to SNA seems difficult, or expensive, or both.

I really want to avoid flying on the east coast if I possibly can. I can book Alberta to LAX to MCO and back to Alberta with these points but the dates just aren't becoming available. I was hoping if it wasn't too expensive I would just buy tickets out of pocket for Florida. My little 2 day trip to DL looks like it might cost $3000. I may not get to DL after all...... insert sad face here.
