I am not sure if this is the correct spot for this, but when we were at Disney last time and used DME they offered check-in for some airlines at the resort. We didn't use one of the airlines they offered check-in for. My question is does anyone know if you can check-in for your departure flight at the resort if you are not using DME, but your airline is on the list? We are flying Air Tran but we are renting a car instead of DME this time. Thanks!

You can check in and/or check your luggage even though you are not taking the bus. They are different systems.

We just returned from the world last week. On our return we did use the resort check in at Saratoga for our Airtran flight. We were so happy to see our seat assignment and our names were correct all is good!!! Right till we were one family from boarding and they called our family name over the PA!!! The counter service lady was less than pleased that we had checked in at "Disney" she stated she showed no record of us checking in and told us our boarding passes were just another Disney suvioner. She printed new boarding passes that were the same minus the Disney Express logo... Same seats and all, I think she was on a bit of a ego trip. Anyway all was fine, just ck in when you get to gate.

The boarding passes that disney prints are the same that you can print out on your own computer, there are times that my boarding pass is in an envelope on my door even if I don't use the luggage check in. I think there was an air tran computer glitch. The gate agent may have been less than pleased but AIR TRAN chooses to participate in RAC.

The service that is not DME is called RAC (resort airline checkin). I've used it around 20 times now and it has always worked perfectly. If you have luggage fees you have to pay them the night before (there will be instruction in your room on how to do that). You need to drop off your luggage no less than 3 hours before your flight (or you can't use it). RAC is bascially curb side service that is conveniently located at the resort. Don't forget since this is "curb side" service these representatives (not Disney employees) will be expecting a tip. I do find that each resort has difference rules. While some resorts will let one adult checkin, other resorts want to see all adults in the party (w/ID). They will print your boarding passes, but you will need to check at the airport to see what your gate number is as that info is not always available early in the morning. I think there is a sticky that has all of this information in it at the top of the tread.
