Air Canada vs WestJet

Sure sounds like a glitch. I have booked many Aeroplan reward flights and never had a problem..

As the poster above mentions you can always pre book your seat with AC as well when booking a full revenue seat. Even if it's a Tango class fare which doesn't include seat assignment you can pay the fee and choose your seat.

That's really lousy that you had such a problem.

One thing to keep in mind I believe AC uses the older jets with overhead TV screen, etc for the Hawaii flights. I am researching flights now too for Honolulu and that was the impression I got when I was reviewing flights on the AC website.

Then again I heard the TV programming on WJ wasn't available on the flights to/from Hawaii so give or take lol

Air Canada just increased their flights - well the ones we were interested in taking anyway. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat - do I book now and hope a better seat sale doesn't become available a day after I book? or do I risk it and hold out for a better price and watch the prices climb :confused3 Air Canada just had a sale so I'm thinking it isn't likely they'll have another - any thoughts?

I noticed your DH is in the military - I'm a military wife too! and going to hawaii to celebrate my 40th b-day and DH's retirement of military.:)

If you want to see what flights offer which amenities (as well as what seats are good and what are not so good), go to seatguru.com and enter in the flight number and it will show you all of the details of the plane used for the flight.

That site shows that AC users 767-300s from Vancouver to Honolulu with the in-seat entertainment.

The only AC planes I've seen recently with the overhead video screens are some of the old A319s/A320s

THat is not what the AC site specifically says when I am actually booking:
