Air Canada - no option to accept itinerary changes

Has anyone experienced this? I didn't get an email that our itinerary has changed, but when I log in to the site to view my booking (I check every few days in case there are changes) I get that popup that says that the itinerary has change with the the option to review/change flights or review later. When I select the option to review, it takes me to a page with the flight info (a 5 minute change to the departure time, but I saw this change a week ago) but there is no option to accept the change. Am I missing something? I'm on the line now waiting to speak to someone, but is this normal for a 5 minute change in itinerary?

They’ve modified our August flights three times since booking - minor 5 minutes changes every time. I received an email inciting me to confirm/modify my flights each time, and the options were available once I logged in. I did it right away. Maybe it needs to be done in a certain timeframe?

I don't think it matters that much. I can't recall the specific wording but I remember the email saying something that not confirming means basically accepting since it didn't affect your flight status so you won't be kicked out of the flight the day off even if you don't confirm. I would check your emails for the fine print, I've seen it many many times.

Our flights changed once before and I recall being able to actually accept it. This time around, when I try to accept the change it takes me to the review screen and I can't move forward from there.
Thanks for this. I tried googling yesterday to see if there was a resolution and didn't see this. It must be a new thing that's happening.

I didn't get an email this time around to even give me a timeframe to accept the change. I worry that they might be pulling a fast one on me, putting us on flights that don't work for us and so I'm blindly accepting these changes. We haven't flown AC since our honeymoon in 2010 and I'm not sure what airlines are capable of doing nowadays.

Do you have the app? I've was able to see the link there for my trip last month.

I've tried the app as well. I don't get the message when I view my booking, but when I hit the "Change" link, it circles then tells me my flights have changed. When I try to view the change, I get a full blown "something went wrong on our end" error with a number to call for assistance.

I don't need to change anything though. I would just be going in to see if there's a better flight at a decent price to change to.

For our family flight (the 4 of us), I ended having to call in. It wouldn't let me confirm the changed flights or modify them. I assumed it was because we have free seat selections because my kids are under 10.

For a flight change for my solo trip, I was able to confirm without an issue.

I just logged in for our flights and was given the same notice,,,with no place to accept as well,,it seems like there was only a 5 min change,,,but there was a place to cancel...not doing that. We still have 18 days so not touching anything yet.

Scary news as of yesterday,,,,AC cancelling a lot of flights and sent emails out saying "opps sorry"....from what I hear its a lot of flights between Toronto and Montreal,,,makes sense as that route is usually business and if everyone is still at home wont be a lot of that going on.
But good luck to all.
We fly AC July 18th,,hope ours is still flying

Not between Toronto and Montreal, but rather mainly flights to and from those two hubs. They are cancelling around 150 flights per day.

We are flying into YVR mid-August from YUL to catch a cruise. Being flexible, we might decide to add a couple of buffer days by flying in 2-3 days in advance instead of the day before the cruise.

I saw that in the news last night as well. @mort1331, that's what I was experiencing. I know you're travelling soon and I'm crossing my fingers that it all works out for you (flights and passports).

I did receive the email from the AC president mentioning about the changes. I assume we'll get an additional email if we are affected by the changes? Because of the technical issues I posted about, I can't see if there are additional changes to our booking.

I just popped onto aircanada.com and it looks like there's a big red banner alert regarding issues retrieving booking details.

OOH, so I just cleared all my cookies for AC on my Chrome browser and logged back in. I no longer see the alert that my itinerary has changed.

I am flying out from YYZ to YVR. There was a plane change a couple of months ago then just minor schedule changes of 5-10 min on flight times. I booked using AM, so I only got emails from AM asking me to contact them if I am not ok with the changes. I just checked the seat maps of both flights since booking is still available. Both flights are full, so I think I should be all set for the trip. I can’t imagine dealing with this flying to international destinations. Good luck to everyone flying out this summer!

Our first leg is from YYZ to YVR and it's the first flight of the day. It doesn't look full at all, but in the last week or so it seems to be filling. Has AC or even WJ been combining flights? There are quite a few YYZ-YVR trips per day and I always wondered how full these flights are and how often they get cancelled/combined.

They will likely cancel some flights and put those people on other flights.

I booked a one way return flight using my Airmiles from SNA to YVR and they have changed the flight getting in to Vancouver by almost 3 hours! We were supposed to get in to YVR at 6:49pm, this was back in November, and now we won't get in until 9:10pm! They also changed the time we leave Orange County at 12:46pm, we were supposed to leave around 10:30/10:45! I only discovered this because I logged in to my Airmiles account, no email!!

Sorry, it wasn't Air Canada, it was American Airlines. Tried calling Airmiles today and was on hold for over 20 minutes and then when I called again it said that something beyond its control wasn't allowing it to help me. No further ahead today than yesterday, but no changes to my flight.

I have heard that AA has seriously stunk it up lately in terms of customer service. I would think that AA would have notified you, not Airmiles? Crazy that they are the ones notifying you and not the carrier.
