Good afternoon fellow Disners I know some one out there can help , I have flights booked from heathrow to toronto then onto orlando , am I right in thinking that I can do my immigration at toronto as they have US immigration saving me from having to do it at Mco, and if any one has been to toronto do they have any tips .

Yes you can do this (at least you could 3 years ago)- Just be prepared for the the "same old" they are no more polite than the ones at usa airports :rotfl2:

We did this once after being voluntarily bumped from our Orlando flight - you are correct that you'll do immigration in Canada although I don't remember if the queue was any shorter, sometime it's just back luck that 2 transatlantic flights arrive at the same time!

The other posters are absolutely correct, even down to the happy go lucky immigration officers. :-).

One other thing worth noting when going through Toronto - when we went through there last year, we did not collect luggage as in USA airports we have been through. You wait in a line before immigration, then you are called through (your name appears on a screen) to the immigration officer. You then just head to the gate for your next flight. This was in March 2013, presumably this is still the method used.

No need to collect your bags, in either direction. It's really, really easy to connect through Toronto. Took under 30 minutes from gate to gate last time I was there, including immigration and security. And when you land in MCO, you just walk straight out of the airport :thumbsup2

Tips? Best value food and drink are at Tim Hortons.
