I am so angry at AC right now I'm fuming

Two monthes ago I found a great flight to Orlando on the AC website. It was a bit more expensive but it was convenient and it gave me more time at disney (I can only get away for a long weekend). I called today to add my FF# to my file and I find out the flight doesn't even exist anymore! They couldn't even be bothered to send an e-mail or anything. I was once booked on a Delta flight where the schedule changed by five minutes and they sent out an e-mail notification right away. The worst part is the person I spoke to was so indifferent. She actually said "we would have gotten around to telling you eventually". What kind of company says that!!!! I can't take the only other flight that day because it leaves when I'm at work. I don't know what to do :(

No wonder AC doesn't do so well with that kind of customer service. I am with you I would be flipping mad if no-one bothered to tell me of a change.

I am flying AC this Oct/Nov and booked through destina. The return flight time changed (by 3 ½ hours). I was informed of the change via e-mail

Where do I find out if my Oct flights have changed-so far it still looks okay online?

We got hit with a Schedule Change the week before we left last January...no notification from either AC or our TA....I was calling for our seat assignments, and said - conversationally: "So, our flight is still leaving at 6:30am, right?"

BIG silence on the other end....

...we had 45 minutes to get to our MCO flight....at PEARSON.

Yep, we missed it;)

Oh my gosh mmb that's terrible! I thought my experience was a one in a million kind of thing, but I guess not. I hope they made it up to you.

Mom_rules, I called 1-800-247-2262 to check on my flight. I really hope nobody elses plans get screwed up.

AC is pretty close to NW in terms of letting us know about sked changes. The only way I've found out about NW changes is by checking each flight, I've never once received notification from them about sked changes. AC at least used to do that, however about a month ago I noticed a change for upcoming flights of mine that left 20 minutes to change planes and go through customs. I don't think so.

Yikes! Good thing you had called, otherwise who knows when they would have gotten around to calling you about the flight. Did they say why the flight was canceled and have they offered to help you find another flight?

I just checked my flight on A/C's website and everything *looks* okay but now I'm thinking that I should probably call and check tomorrow.

Yep, unfortunately due to all the restructing that is going on at AC they are shuffling all their flights!

Our October flight going down leaves earlier. When I about it she made a notation that they don't have to let me know now! As If!

Keep checking all the time especially a day prior!

Pixie Dust that you can still make the trip!

Where do you check to get the most reliable information?

best times to call are during "hit" TV shows or after 11pm:)

(I used to work there...and we would always laugh that when Friends came on, we could all go on break;) )

During the day 9-5 is ALWAYS the worst...once the travel agencies close, and it's after 8pm in BC, you'll have the quickest access...

HTH!!

Yikes...that's scary. AC changed our flight for our trip home in October (from something like 8:30am to 6:30am :() which we didn't like but were able to make (and I had booked the flights in May...5 months before). I too found out about it by accident while browsing the AC site...no-one ever called me.

This May I booked AC for our cruise next March & we have a flight home for 2pm. What would happen if they changed it to earlier and we couldn't make the flight? It's scary that they can do that. Sheesh...I paid a ton for those AC tickets because I wanted a direct flight from Ottawa and a convenient time for our return after the cruise...now I'm thinking I should have gone with a cheaper airline if that's the service you get. :( I'm hoping they'll leave the 2pm flight alone as I'm sure there are many people returning from a cruise who'll be taking that flight home.

The afternoon flight times are rarely changed by that much...the plane that leaves Ottawa in the morning is generally the same one you fly home on.

Don't worry...when we missed our flight, the staff did EVERYTHING they could to get us to MCO:) They re-routed us through YUL so we could catch the 3:00pm out of there:)

Ended well:)

Thanks...I sure hope you're right and I'm glad to hear they helped you get to MCO.

Unfortunately the only direct flight to Ottawa for the return trip is at 9:55am which is no good for us so we're taking a connecting flight through Toronto.

What really ticked me off about the flight time change last time was that it too was a connecting flight through Toronto. So they bumped our flight from Orlando to Toronto up 2 hours but left our connecting flight as it was (of course that didn't register on me until we were on our way back :(). We already had a 1.75 hour wait in Toronto so ended up waiting 3.75 hours for our flight. I asked upon our arrival in Toronto if we could catch an earlier flight to Ottawa (they have flights every hour or less) but because our luggage was already transferred through to the original flight, they wouldn't let us. I wasn't experienced enough to know that but had I known better, I wouldn't have let them take our luggage after going through customs.

princess pooh: When were you suppose to be going...good luck and please keep us posted. :)

Thanks for that tip :) I was about to call but I think I'll wait until later tonight.

I spoke to the NICEST AC guy today! He offered to fly us out the next day but that meant losing a day off our already short vacation. I had found a Delta flight that flies out a few hours later than my original flight and it's also $100 cheaper :earseek: . I put a hold on it before calling AC again and the NICEST AC guy gave us a complete refund. From now on I will always, always, always call to confirm any flight.

Thanks to you all for your concern :wave2: . I am so happy and relieved that everything worked out okay. Now I can just look forward to going to WDW for my first F&W fest. I can't wait :hyper:

Phew! I'm glad you were able to work everything out princess pooh :)

That's Fantastic!
