Hi there

I've just booked flights with Air Atlanta (a charter to Sanford) for next year - last week July, first week August. There are 8 in the party and I was a bit panicked by the price of schedule and these were on offer at around £550 each. The TA told me these are very good as charter flights go - reasonable leg room, seat back TV's - but I wondered if anyone of you knowledgeable folks have had any direct experience with them.

Thanks in advance

Hi
and welcome to the dis!!

We flew with air atlanta, came back on the 3rd oct.
Our plane was a jumbo and quite old. No seat back tv screens, just one screen in front , and only visible if you sat on an aisle seat, otherwise all you saw was backs of heads.:(
food wasn't great either, but cabin crew were friendly.
Sorry to sound so negative, but this is how it was for us.
We booked with travel city.

Hi Netty

Thanks for you reply.

I think I must have been given some 'duff gen' from the TA then. I booked with Star Buys and they definitely said there were seat back TVs - I'd already spoken to TCD who said their aircraft didn't have seat backs which is why I didn't book with them.

I think I'd better check with the TA in the morning - this is an important consideration when travelling with a group of teens and I wonder what my position would be, having booked and then found the info given to me was incorrect.

Any thoughts?

Hi
Did your TA tell you it was a jumbo? I'm sure that air atlanta only have jumbos going into Sanford. If they have given you false information to get the booking, then I would think you would be entitled to a full refund, it is maybe worth getting in touch with the CAB before going to see the TA. Any one else out there help with this??
One passenger compared our plane to Dan air 1963! Alot of them were muttering and I'm sure there will be a few complaints to TCD.
All the back rests had a TCD logo on them. Are you sure that star buys haven't booked you through Tcd? Is star buys a local TA?
Sorry again to sound negative, maybe other people on this site found it all ok, i'm just saying how it was for us.
Hope this helps
Jeanette

Sorry don't know the answer to your question, but we have booked through Thomas Cook. We are going from Manchester on 14th Aug to Sanford and we are flying Air Atlanta.
We have been twice before with TCD - booked with Thomas Cook for August because they were cheaper.:D

Well I contacted my TA who did some research and said that there might or might not be seatback TV's depending on which aircraft it was, so I decided to cancel the booking - and although I'd only booked it the day before they still charged me £120 which I though was a bit rough as they'd given me incorrect information.

However I phoned a different company who found me some with United for £630 including fully inclusive car hire so I think/hope we've made the right decision.

I really don't like the business of booking flights - always worried that I'll miss a good deal.

Thanks for the advice
