Ahoy Me hearties(WITH LINKS ON PG 1). Last day posted 10/17. DEC PTR STARTED W/LINK

Great update, Dana. I love DIS meets...it is so fun to meet the people you talk to on an most daily basis.

Great update! How wonderful that you were all able to get together!! I can't help you with your photobucket question, I am technically challenged:confused3

Love the night shots of spaceship earth....oh and the ice cream faces pictures....I did that to my daughter when I posted pictures of her eating the wings at O'Hana's...I was not her favorite person for a few days:lmao:

Thank you Queen :goodvibes. It was so much fun getting together, this was my second meet and it was great to seem my friends again.

Thanks about the night shots. I love night shots so I have got to get better at it. I don't want to carry a tripod and it is shake that makes the shots so blurry. I think the pictures of the kids with food on their faces are the cutest; it catches them being themselves. I know it is different with your daughter though, since she is a teen, I say use them as blackmail pictures :lmao::rotfl2:.

Thanks Kathy :goodvibes. Dis meets are so fun . I guess you saw the picture of Dallas with the Mickey Bar? I think it was on Mary's page that you posted a picture of Mark?? with a Mickey Bar.

Yes, I did see that (and you have a good memory...it was on Mary's page). I think it is an unwritten rule that Mickey Bars must be eaten in that fashion. ;)

I forgot to post about what Dallas and I did yesterday.

Dallas has been wanting to see Toy Story 3D and I had to work the weekend after it came out, so we didn't get to go. Last Monday I went on Fandango to order some tickets and they had an offer for a free ticket if you completed an advertised offer. I looked through the offers and saw that they had Good Housekeeping magazine for an offer so I went on and completed the offer and waited for my receipt. I finally got the receipt on Thursday so I ordered the tickets and paid $12.50 for our two tickets.

I picked the earliest time slot and when we got there the theater was empty. By the time the movie started the theater was about 1/3 full. There were a lot of adults there to see the movie, without children. The movie was REALLY good, I cried during one scene (I won't say where, don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet). When the movie was over we walked out of the theater, and the line was unbelievable :scared1:. The movie theater has 16 screens and TS3D was showing in 2 of them. After seeing that, I know I will use Fandango and go to the first showing of any popular movie from now on.

I would highly recommend this movie!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I always get a picture of us before we leave for a movie so here is yesterdays.

Not the greatest picture; I took it with my cell phone.

I also have to add that with the new AP rates that are out, I booked us a room at All Star Sports for our quick September trip :cool1::woohoo::dance3::yay:. We were going to stay off property until the rate came out. The price came out to be about the same so, all things being equal, I would rather stay at Disney. It will be our first time at All Star Sports. I eventually want to stay at all the resorts and with this stay it will complete our list of value resorts. I also made us an ADR for WCC for Sunday, September 5th.

So, I just wanted to add this little bit of news :thumbsup2.

I hope everyone has a good week; I have to work Tuesday and Wednesday so I may be scarce for the next couple of days.

First of all--LOVE your BAMA shirt!! Roll Tide!! I wish I could have come to the meet but we didn't have park tickets for that day. Plus we were meeting up with some family at the Poly beach that night! It looks like ya'll had a lot of fun! I'm so glad that you got to see TS3!! And how exciting about booking a resort for Sept!!!! :goodvibes

What a fantastic update! Well, updates really since there were a couple. ;) Of course, the pictures of Dallas are adorable. I always tell Hunter that he wears his food. Must be a boy thing.:confused3

I love the pictures of the meet. It certainly looks like ya'll had a good time. Isn't it the neatest thing that we all met through the Disboards and have become friends?

Sounds like you had an action-packed, fun filled day! Hooray for the DIS meet! It is always fun to get to meet people you have made such good friends with, I'm sure and isn't it wonderful that Disney brings so many people together??? :cutie:

The ice cream comparison pics are adorable! Boys - they eat a little, wear a little. :sad2:

So excited that you got to see Toy Story 3 in 3D :3dglasses AND you got a deal, too! :thumbsup2 I'm a sucker for a bargain.

And I cried in two parts of that movie! Ugh! Is there any Disney movie that I have not cried for? :upsidedow

Thank you Becky :thumbsup2. Gotta love anything Bama :goodvibes. Last week Dale tells me he isn't sure about our September trip because Alabama will be playing on the 4th........:lmao:. I told him he could stay in the room and Dallas and I would go to the parks; it is San Jose State for goodness sakes......:lmao:. I hate that you didn't get to the meet, but I am glad I got to see your family in Mexico :goodvibes.

Thanks Lisa :goodvibes. I post so many pictures it takes two to complete them......:rotfl:. I can't believe I just finished with day one; boy oh boy am I behind :rolleyes1. Thanks on the pix of Dallas, I think it is a MALE thing :lmao:. If Dale has told me once he has told me a thousand times.."Well, you can throw this shirt away"...........:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:.

We did have a good time at the meet. I feel really blessed that I have such wonderful friends here on the Dis :goodvibes :goodvibes.

We were very busy that day, but it was a lot of fun :thumbsup2. It seems like a lot more packed when it is all typed out. I wonder what Walt would think about his World now? It is the one place I can go and REALLY forgot all about what is happening in the outside world.

I think the ice cream pictures speak volumes for the saying "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach". They want it all over them, like a pig rolling in mud...........:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:.

I cry at every Disney movie too. I was bawling like a baby at The Princess and the Frog when Ray died :sad2:.

Hey Desiree . I hope you are feeling better. I had shingles 3 years ago, a mild case, so I can sympathize. Thanks about the pix, I am going to get the night thing down one day. TS3 was so good :3dglasses :goodvibes.

We are planning our trip for September. I have our room booked at ASSp. We have never stayed there so I'm a little anxious. I'm afraid I am becoming a resort snob :snooty:.

Thanks B :goodvibes. I can't believe he is almost 12 :sad2:.

We did have fun at the meet. It was fun at the second one too :goodvibes.

I'm now waiting for the December AP rates to come out so I can get our December trip booked :cloud9:.

Gulf Coast Update:

When the oil spill started, and it looked like it would be impacting the shoreline, I signed up on the Audubon Society website to be a volunteer; that was back in May. I never heard anything so I just assumed they didn't need me. I checked my voice mail today and they had left a message for me to call them back. I called, and on Monday I will be going to Moss Point, Ms. to see what they need me to do. I'm not sure what my assignment will be so I will update about that later. I am a little nervous about it because I don't know how I will handle seeing all the poor animals being killed by the oil. Please pray for the people living on the Gulf Coast, the animals, the wetlands and everything this oil spill is impacting that we may not even be aware of yet.

I try to keep my political views off the Dis, but it is getting really hard when I see all the destruction that is happening to this beautiful region of the country.

I would also like to ask everyone to go to the following site and vote for the Bay Area Food Bank. I know a lot of people who live in Bayou La Batre, Al and 90% of the people who live there work on the water. Bayou La Batre is a small fishing town full of very proud, hard working men and women. It is truly heart breaking.

Dana, I know you are both glad that you received the phone call and also nervous about receiving the phone call. It would be really hard on me too to actually see the destruction to the wetlands and the animals.

I followed the link and voted!

Good luck with the volunteer position. I will pray that God will give you the strength that you will need to get through this tough time. The thoughts of the poor sea animals dying is heartbreaking enough for me, but to actually see it would be so much worse, I think.

You are such a blessing for volunteering to help and I'm sure that you will be greatly Rewarded for your good deeds. God Bless You, Dana. You'll be in my prayers!

I am glad they called. I have wanted to do something to help, but ranting was all I could do; until now. I'm wondering if I will have to sign something limiting what I can say. If so, I will get in my car and drive back home. I will NOT sign anything saying I can't tell what is happening here. I know BP is making the clean up workers keep mum :sad2:.

Thank you for voting!!!!
