Ahoy Me hearties(WITH LINKS ON PG 1). Last day posted 10/17. DEC PTR STARTED W/LINK

Dana,

Your pictures of the safari were fantastic! I especially like the one of the lion. Seems like every time we go on the safari he's being lazy and lying down on the job.

Too bad the food at Tusker House wasn't better. I've thought about booking an ADR there but haven't read much about their dinner, only breakfast.

Hi my friend! Great update! We just did a TH dinner last week and it was good. They have A LOT more to offer for regular dinner than they did at the GG. Not sure why but they did!

I didn't realize they didn't come to the table to talk to the two of you. If I did I would have said something for sure. I'm sorry about that. It is always fun to hang out with you guys.

We need to figure out when our paths can cross again....or maybe we can meet up somewhere else that is halfway or something. I think the next time Mary and I are going to hook up is the first week of October in 2011. I'm bummed about that. I miss you guys! I feel like you all are my best buds...

Is that November or December? I musta missed your dates somewhere!! HAHAHA Was gonna try to see if I can meet you there or something!!

It is December. I am not sure exactly what the dates are going to be because I have requested a weekend off that I usually work. Sometimes they give us the time off and then sometimes they don't :confused3. It will either be December 4th or December 6th that we check in.

Hey Lisa . Thanks on the pictures. This is the first time I have ever seen the lion out like that too. I guess he was out because it was cooler in the evening.

The chicken, salad and cake at TH was very good. I think we may do the breakfast once so we can get in the park early....:rolleyes1:lmao:

Hey Leanne  Thanks :goodvibes. I really had a good time at the GG. It was so nice to be with such good friends . I guess they forget to mention it to our waitress or something. It was OK though Dallas ate the mini corn dogs and he was fine. You know how picky he is anyway.....:rolleyes1.

We definitely have to decide when we can meet up again. Since I homeschool Dallas we can pretty much go anytime as long as Dale and I can get off work. I don't usually have a hard time with it(unless it is a weekend), but Dale has to put his vacation time on the calendar at work pretty early because they don't let but one person at a time off. I miss ya'll too, I have come to feel really close to ya'll. It has been with the help of my Dis buds that I have made it through some rough patches in the past year :goodvibes.

First of all- GREAT update! That photo of the lion is AMAZING. And...ummm... you & I are there the same week in December!!!!:cool1::yay::woohoo:

Thanks April. I was excited that the lion was out. I'm excited that we are there the same week in December. We will have to meet up somewhere :goodvibes.

I know I have been lagging on my updates, and I am terribly sorry :guilty:. I have got to get on with it since I need to start planning our September and December trips. I won't plan our September trip too much since it is only for a couple of days. I do know that we are just going to plan on the rides we want to hit and we only have one ADR at WCC. So, without further ado-------------

Monday, May 24 we decided to sleep in a little since we were going to do laundry, and since Sunday was such a late night adventure. We woke up around 8:45. Dale and I gathered up the clothes we were going to wash and walked over to the laundry room. It was pretty close to our room so it wasn't a big deal. We decided we wanted to eat a quick breakfast since we had a 1:00 ADR at WCC. Dale and I walked to OPR and used snack credits to buy some danish. Dallas LOVES croissants and when I saw them I knew what he would have. The cinnamon rolls there are SOOOOOOOO good so we got a couple of them too and went back to the room. After we ate our delicious breakfast(this would become our usual) Dale and I walked back to the laundry and threw our clothes in the dryers. I did not feel bad about leaving our stuff there because you had to use your room key to get in, and besides, who wants to take someone else's underwear? :scared1::eek:

Once the laundry was done we decide it was time to head out. We chose MK for today because it was closer to WL. We were going to park at MK parking and ride the boat over to WL, but Dale decided to just drive over to WL.

Since we were early we checked in at the podium and walked around to take a look see.

Dale fell in LOVE with WL. We are planning on buying into DVC in a few years and I wish we could buy from Disney at WL. We may have to go the resale route just so we can get it as our home, but that will depend on what advantages Disney is offering when the time comes.

It wasn't long before our names were called and we were seated. I wanted to order the skillet, but Dale and Dallas did not :sad2:. Since Dallas has the peanut allergy the chef came out to our table and talked to us about his choices and asked Dallas what he wanted, of course it was a grilled cheese and french fries :rolleyes1. He also got the Bottomless milkshake.

His grilled cheese

I don't know what Dale found so interesting about an empty glass...:rotfl:

Of course Dale got the hamburger
DSCF5993.jpg

And I got the pulled pork
DSCF5991.jpg

Now it came time for dessert; I got the s'mores cheese cake, Dale got the pecan pie and Dallas got some cookies in a package, but he didn't eat them because he was full of milkshake.

I don't know why the dessert pictures are so fuzzy :confused3.

Now I know they usually make a big deal out of people asking for ketchup, but they didn't do that this time. Our waiter was nice, but not really into any special character. The waitress at the table next to ours was though.

We all enjoyed our food thus the reason we are going back in September.

After we finished with our food we headed on over to MK.

Continued in next post.

So we made it to the MK, caught a tram to the TTC and of course I had to get one of my guys on the monorail

We headed into the park

It was so nice to have sunshine on this May trip, but it was really hot.

Since our trip last July Dallas has decided he really likes the Tiki Room

I took some pictures in the Tiki Room, but it is so dark in the show none of them turned out. After the show and we headed over to PoC, BTM and Philharmagic. Once Philharmagic was over we decided to head back to the room and rest. It was a fun day, but it was so hot. I think for dinner we ordered pizza from the food court and paid for it OOP; something we did a few times.

Nice update, Dana. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the WCC. Unfortunately, we did not (the only thing I liked were the bottomless milkshakes). Mark LOVES the Tiki room too (although he prefers the older version better).

I do have to say that the service nor the food was that great on this trip. I don't know why Disney was down on the food this time, but they were :sad2:.

I remember the old one too. I saw it on my first trip in 1986. Wasn't it called Tropical Serenade, or something like that, then? My first husband has all the pictures from that trip so I don't have them to look back on to be positive.

Great updates Dana!!! Get to the good part, the part with ME!!! HAHA Just kidding, I know it's coming!!! :) I hope you have a good weekend, we're doing a yard sale tomorrow to help pay for Sami's trip in October. So no worries there!! :)

It has always been called, to my knowledge, the Enchanted Tiki Room. When they changed it, they added "Under New Management."

See we were very pleased with all of our meals the last two years except for WCC and Boatwright's. I hope we're not disappointed in September (although most of our TS's are breakfast so I think we'll be safe)

You know what is so sad about our meet???? I don't think I have any pictures of it :sad2:. I don't know why we weren't taking pictures :guilty:.

I need to have a yard sale, I have so much stuff that I don't need, I could make some Disney money. I have to work this weekend, but that is OK, I'm glad to have a job :thumbsup2:goodvibes.

I don't know where I got the Tropical Serenade from :confused3........:rotfl:.

We were really happy with most of our meals last September. We have never eaten at Boatwright's. You should be OK with the breakfast food. We didn't have a breakfast on this trip.

Yes, I think we will. We're doing Boma and Crystal Palace--we love both and giving Kona a try this year. Then we're going to Biergarten which we've always liked and The Plaza--which is always the last meal of our trip.

Tropical -- Caribbean Beach. Maybe that's where you got it from. ;)

YAY! for an update! :woohoo:

You're right---it was hot during our trip, wasn't it? Of course, I know it beats what all you guys had to deal with last May.

Glad y'all liked WCC. :thumbsup2 I had a feeling Dale and Dallas would enjoy it. But next time, you've got to get the skillet! YUMMY! :)

Great updates & great photos!!! I LOVE the WL. It is in my top 5 resorts at WDW.

Yea, I didn't have my camera either. Weird huh?? I think Leanne got some pictures of us....maybe when you guys come in December we can get some!! :) The yard sale went good, made a little bit of money....and then went shopping! LOL Got some things for our MAY trip, man, I am having WAY too much fun buying little kid stuff!!! And since it's his niece, Chris doesn't mind!!! LOL

great updates Dana:) I am so glad you loved WL I love that resort also! Its beautiful!! Thats so exciting you have 2 trips in the works:) WCC was good we had the skillet-- but we went on a off night i think it was so late and we had like a 9:45 ressie-- i did love the bottomless milkshakes though. we would have to try it again for a earlier ADR to give it a fair shoot:) were do you plan on staying for your dec trip? i love your MK pics!! I miss it!! I will be back soon enough though:)

I would like to try Boma, but I know Dale nor Dallas would like it. I need to just go to some of the places I would like by myself :rolleyes1.

Tropical--probably the heat we are having here..........:lmao:.

Thanks Michelle :goodvibes

I was glad we didn't have the rain like last year. I know it is going to be hot when we go back in September, but I can deal with it; we'll be at Disney :yay:.

I want to get the skillet so I may try to talk Dale into it ;). Dallas will get his grilled cheese though :rolleyes1.
