Ok, driving myself crazy here. We have made and changed ressies too many times as it is I think..lol

Now, here we are less than 2 weeks til we leave and still thinking away..haha

We have Boma booked for our AK day. We have never been to the AKL and are looking forward to going over there when we get through at AK. We think it will be a lot of fun to look around there and such. So, we have been planning to try Boma after all the good things we read about it... BUT we are very very picky eaters and I am feeling a little unsure about it. I don't like any types of mixed salads, am not a veggie person, don't like any type of dressings, etc.. As much as I like the idea of getting to go there I am just iffy on the food offerings. I hate to not be brave and try it though.

After hearing about all the good things at Jiko though I am really wanting to try this. We had decided to change Boma to Jiko but after reading more about it dh is not sure it will be best for us b/c we will have ds5 with us and it seems to not be the most child friendly... I am really wanting to try the filet with mac and cheese there. It looks SOOO good and I am a big fan of a good filet. So, not sure what to do there. Any thoughts?

Then, on our last night..this is one we have debated over and over again.. CRT.. we have never been. We love the idea of getting to eat in the castle and realize this will be more for the experience than the food but I read more and more about how bad the food is and with this being our last night I don't want a bad meal so I have really thought about trying something like Cali Grill..another we have never done. At least that should be really good food on our last night but we would loose that experience of eating in the castle which we are looking forward to.. PLUS, we are not big fans of the style/feel of the Cont so would we even like the atmosphere at Cali Grill? I am so torn on what to do. At CRT I would get the chicken I am sure and it does not even look as good as the chicken you get at Wolfgang Puck Express in dtd (which I LOVE) for a cs credit so I am having a hard time thinking of using 2 ts for it..haha I don't care for any of the apps they have nor the desserts so I am feeling like I won't eat much there. I KNOW I KNOW.. my fault for being so picky..lol Again though..the experience of eating in the castle.....hmmm

So...any thoughts would be great. I need some help making these final choices. :confused3 :thumbsup2

Don't worry about Boma. It has plenty of food for less adventurous eaters, including a whole kids section with chicken nuggets, french fries, mac n cheese, etc (adults can grab anything there as well). Jiko would also be a good choice, the filet is great and the kids menu is fine. Check the menus just to make sure that you like what you see at allearsnet.

I know what you mean about wanting to eat in the castle. We do too but we stay away because of all of the lousy food reviews. Have you thought about having lunch there instead? From what i've read here it doesn't seem to be quite as bad as dinner.

We also wanted to check out the AK Lodge and have dinner there. We decided to go with Jiko because we aren't adventurous eaters either and thought that the filet would be a good bet.

With you leaving so soon I wonder if you would even be able to switch to other places at this point? I know how busy everywhere is during free dining. (We were there for it last year.)

Whatever you decide, have a great trip!! :thumbsup2

I think your DS will be fine at Jiko. You are not the first person to bring a child there! In my opinion, you shouldn't miss it.

As far as CRT, everyone should eat there at least once. It was a nice experience and I loved the food. We also did it on our last night and it was perfect. There was nothing like being in the heart of WDW in MK on the last night. Perfect ending to a great trip.

Make sure you check if you can make these ADR changes before you cancel the other ones.......!!!

I know what you mean about changing ADR's. I think I call twice a week and tweak things. My "account" must have 100 canceled ADR's on it!!

How about trying Boma for breakfast instead of dinner? It seems you would still get the experience the unique-ness (did I just make up a word???) of the restaurant but it wouldn't be too exotic. Just a thought. 2 of the 3 of us (and I am not one) are very picky eaters so Boma for anything other then breakfast is out for us.

As for the castle, I don't think you should change your plans. Sure it may not be the best meal you have ever eaten in your life and probably isn't worth 2 TS credits, but the experience of being in the castle is very much "worth" it - in my opinion anyway. Especially on your last night, what a way to end the trip. We had a table next to a window overlooking Fantasyland and with the ambiance, it was a great meal!!

So I say try to stop second guessing your choices and just go with it!

Thank you so much guys for all of the opinions. They really helped. We called and were able to book Jiko and cancel Boma. :thumbsup2 We are so excited about it.

Now.... dress code wise.. We are going to be spending the day in AK and will not be going back to the hotel before dinner so we will have to wear what we have on at the park to Jiko.. so what should that be? Will dh be ok in a polo shirt and khaki shorts and myself in plaid bermuda shorts and matching casual top?

We think with the CRT adr being our last night we will keep it. I just can't seem to bring myself to not go to the castle on our last night. I am really looking forward to that even if I don't get much to eat. :rotfl:

Jiko is our favorite restaurant in WDW. A five year old should be able to handle Jiko, just be prepared to take him out if he gets cranky or loud. It sounds like you are on the dinning plan. You do realize that Jiko is a two credit restaurant right?

Thanks. :)

Yes, we are actually doing a breakfast out of pocket to save the credits for this. :thumbsup2
