Ahh! I can't take it anymore!!

i best the retort!!!!

Because i don't remember the car my parents drove when i was a child or half of the things we had...but i do remember the vacations we had!

other than that it is my money and i dont feel the need to justify my spending habits to anyone!! not even DH!! LOL

I use to work at a bank in NJ. They would always say why go to WDW when you can go to the shore? I would go over the cost and I just don't like sitting on the beach. TThe cost for WDW and NJ shore for one big kid was within $100. Lets see now which is more fun? mmmmmmmmmmmmm. For a family of 4 or 5 the NJ shore is much cheaper.

When I get that I just ask them, so where do you think I should be going? And why is that?
22 visits and counting! 78 away from 100!

Yeah We get that.
We love it sooooo much we bought into DVC - Now we will definately go again.
Added more points before we even took our first trip "HOME".

The thing that gets me is they all thing Disney World = Magic Kingdom.
SO many don't realize how much there is to see and do. And what variety.

WOW

Next time instead of telling them your going to WDW, why not tell them that your going to Mexico, China, Morocco, Italy, Great Britain, Japan, Norway, Canada, France, and Germany. They don't need to know that you will be visiting each of these countries at Epcot! LOL!

Honestly, there is so much to see and do at WDW, that I don't see why anyone would have a problem.

My hubby and I are going for only our second trip next June (2003) and people already seem to have a problem that we are going back. Our last trip was August 2003, so there's almost 2 years between our trips, but people don't understand why we want to go back. I can see that we may start a tradition of going back every couple of years with an alternate vacation on the off years, because we do want to go places other than WDW. But nowhere can you do and see all there is in one place as you can at WDW. An no matter what anyone says there is just a *Magical* feeling that you get at WDW that you can't get anyplace else in the world (except at Disneyland, maybe).

I agree with the other posters, don't let it get to you and you just enjoy your vacations at WDW and pity those who have no room in their lives for the happiness and magic of a WDW vacation. They must have very sad lives.

I think people that ask that are people that have not been there in yrs. There is so much to do and see plus I think it is impossible to be in a bad mood when you are there. This is the only vacation I want. I plan to go to Disney at least once a yr. I wish I could go more.

You could try saying it relaxes you... I cannot see anyone arguing with that!
{To be honest, until my bf and I started planning this trip (my first) I didn't understand all of the fuss... but after dissecting the boards and reading the menus and searching thru pics and talking with other people who really enjoy this place, I think we're going to have a marvelous time.}
Or you could just say "Well advice is free, and I can choose to take it or leave it."
Something to that extent.

I'm very excited now, and am already pining to plan a trip during the holiday season in the coming years... the decorations are fantastic!

I know what you mean about having to explain yourself. We do not smoke or drink, well I do occasionally, like on vacation,so we consider this our spluge. We work hard and going to WDW gives us time to unwind and get away from the real world! Also,I think you get alot of value for your vacation dollar at WDW.

Same trouble here, Why we go to WDW. I have this saying,NO PHONES,NO FRIENDS,NO FAMILY. Just back from 14 great days at WDW. Also we bought A.P. this trip, going back soon. We also live in SW MO........DISNEY MAGIC IS ALIVE.........CBR99 Allstar Movies Feb2001 Allstar Music Aug2001 Dolphin July2002 Allstar movies Aug2002....

If it is a friend or family member I just laugh it off cause they don't mean it to be offensive (usually).

However, when a former coworker who was determined to talk me out of going to Disney, started on me again, here is how I handled those oh so annoying questions, "Disney World again? Why don't you go somewhere else?"

In return I asked him, "Why are you so obsessively concerned with the location of my vacation? You know, maybe you should talk with a professional about that. You seem to have a control issue of some type." Boy did shut him up but quick!!! LOL!!

Disney is my ultimate vacation spot and always will be!!!

I just sent an e-mail to my supervisor yesterday about my upcoming time off for vacation without mentioning where I was going. She replied, approved, enjoy Disney.

I responded, what makes you think I am going to Disney. She says, you always go to Disney, why is that?

I responded, because Mickey is my main man and I don't cheat!

I get it all the time but it drives me crazy when it comes from my DH! He has been pretty understanding and supportive of my addiction, but his patience is wearing thin! That's why I am taking my sister this trip!

Luckily, most of my family understands my addiction (it has worn off on most of them!) and my co-workers tolerate it. To anyone else who asks me why I am going back to WDW, my response is..........................................................

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Because I can!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

My license plate frame says it all -
Been There, Done That, Going Back

My 10th trip in July was my first solo trip. I may never invite anyone to ever go with me again. I love the attention to detail. That and disney's wonderful ability to coordinate their tremendous music with the fireworks.

Since I wear something disney everyday, people expect me to go once a year to WDW. When I first landed in Orlando, I stopped off for a meal. The waiter asked if I was in town on business or attending a conference. I said no - I just came to see the mouse. He was really taken back.

Thanks all! I've really enjoyed reading this thread. It's nice to know I'm not alone!! º0º (thanks kapeppy!)

Don't you love the people who tell you that you should wait until your kids are older to go to Disney. My reply is we go for ourselves--the kids are just along for the ride.

Hi there! This thread is much more suited for the Community Board, so I am transferring it over there. Please check the CB for further replies. Thanks! :)
