Another great update. I too love riding the boats at Disney. Much better than the buses. I have never noticed bug issues before. Hopefully it was just that one night

I love how you are so close to MK and the monorail at the Wilderness Lodge, but it is so quiet and peaceful at the same time!

I love traveling by boat in Disney, but ew, those bugs look so gross!! One or two might not bother me, but if the boat was covered in them, I'd probably freak out!

It really is cool how peaceful the WL is!! I couldn't stop being amazed by that!

Hahaha I was freaking out too! But that isn't going to stop me from using the boats in the future!

I can't stand bugs, especially large bugs (no matter how harmless), so I would have been freaking out. Weird bugs are one of the reasons I could neverrrr travel to Disney in the warmer months!

Me either! I don't care if they're harmless, they're still around me!! I haven't been to Disney in the summer in a long time, but I don't remember the bugs being worse then!

I have to admit, your bug story totally made me laugh! I can just imagine you sitting there silently freaking out as the bugs inch closer, and closer....

Having lived/worked outside in Florida for the better part of a decade, I've mostly become desensitized, except when it comes to banana spiders, those thing scare the beejezus out of me!

Hahahaha we were able to laugh about it afterwards too, it's okay! There were just so many!!

I have absolutely no idea what a banana spider is, and I am absolutely positive I never ever want to know!!

I can't believe your last full day is upon us. Oh No!

So glad you enjoyed your boat ride back to the Poly. Well, almost! If the lights had never been turned on you wouldn't have seen those pesky insects. Darn Lights!

You're right - everyone on the Poly beach does clamp when Wishes is over. I was just there.

Hahahaha I think it would have been better if we'd never seen them! Calmer, at least!

I love how everyone claps, like at the end of Soarin' too! Disney is just such a happy place!

Well...you have convinced me to try AP at some point...although, I must admit that the WL doesn't hold much appeal to me, so that factors into my ambivalence about trekking out there. Your meal looked fantastic, though! Personally, I'm a huge fan of beets, so I probably would've loved your salad.

Yeah...THANKS...I now also have the Love Boat theme stuck in my head! We discovered that we loved the boats, too! Although we missed the flies, so all in all, had a much more pleasant experience that you did.

It's definitely worth visiting to go to AP, I will say that! I'm not sure how much I'd want to actually stay there though!

LOL it was stuck in my head for awhile there too! Hahaha usually our boat rides are fly-free, this was just a random occurrence, I guess!

I loved the Love Boat! So, I don't really mind having the theme song in my head.

Those bugs look gross, and as a person who's not really a fan either I don't blame you a bit. If I see a bug around the house I itch all night imagining that they're on me.

Picturing you jumping off the boat with Kermit arms made me LOL though.

I'm sad that we're getting to the last day, I don't want the TR to end!

EWWWW! I thought I might do the boat to the Poly on our trip, but that just changed my mind. Or maybe I'd take it during the day, but most definitely not at night. Yikes.

I've taken the boat before with no problems, maybe this was just a randomly buggy night? It was really weird, but nobody else was reacting to them!

wait... no... I am sorry. I am not laughing at you..and the bugs...but laughing cause I OOOH so know how bothersome those darn flies are. Each year when it is "mating season" (they only live like 24 hours..don't even eat...all they do is hatch and then mate and finally lay eggs...all in 24 hours...or so I have been told. ) Anyway...when it is their mating season our yard... porch and even house gets full of the pesky things. Just opening the door sucks them in.(yes there is that many of them outside) Like some strange mini invasion we endure each year. Oh... they are horrid little creatures.

Oh no!!! I would hate to have them multiplying every year in my yard!! Thankfully it's a short cycle!

The boats are a really wonderful, relaxing mode of transportation! I used the boats for the first time last year (well, first time since 1991 which I don't remember!) and I loved it. No bugs on our cruise though. Although living in the woods like I do, I think I've gotten over any bug issues I may have ever had. I'd probably be the calm one saying "They're harmless" hahaha

They definitely are relaxing and wonderful when there aren't bugs aboard! I love travelling by boat in Disney!

We love WL, we've never stayed anywhere else. But, my only gripe, is the BUGS on the boats at night! There are usually fat spiders everywhere! I can never relax on the boats in the dark ...I just know they are creeping all over us It would be great if a CM could wipe them away every once in awhile

Ahhhhhhhh I think if there were spiders aboard I would have contemplated jumping into the lake!!! That's really creepy!

First of all, GROSSSSS BUGGGSSS!! lol I would have freaked out! I don't like bugs, especially in mass quantities! haha But, I did love the title of this chapter..very clever! haha

It's always sad when it comes to the last full day of your trip! You are happy you still have one more full day, but sad because your trip is coming to an end!

Having grown up in Florida, you'd think I'd be tolerant of our creepy crawly comrades; but I'm right there with you...hate 'em! I love sailing the Disney waterways, especially at night. Next to the monorail, the boats are my favorite mode of WDW transportation.

I love watching Wishes from the Poly beach...it's a very different experience from watching them in MK. I always applaud...and cry!

Hahaha I don't ever think I could get used to bugs! Boats and monorails are much more fun than the busses, I agree!

I've never seen Wishes from the MK, but it was fun watching it from the Poly!
