AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

Congrats on the new job! That's so exciting!!!!

WOW, Wingnut's frozen coffee looks delicious. Goodness.

Aww, that stinks that they JUST changed the dish! Hate it when that happens. :(

That gift card is seriously awesome! I love how excited the waiter was.

Yay for your new job !!!! Your Disney gift card was cool. Bummer that you were disappointed in GFC. We had dinner there last September and it was one of our favorite meals. Sooo good.

Why do they change things on the menu anyway? Why fix what isnt broke ???

Sorry your meal at GFC was disappointing. Such a bummer that they changed it THE WEEK BEFORE. I hear so many mixed reviews of that place. Everything ranging from terrible to amazing. I've debated trying it, but I think we finally will on our next trip... especially now that I see that frozen coffee with chocolate. Whoa, that looks good!

:rotfl: your server freaking out over the gift card cracked me up!

Congratulations on the new job!! :thumbsup2

Sorry it wasn't quite the breakfast you were looking for, still sounds pretty good though.
Love the gift card! I totally would have reacted like the waiter. Also, no one can really steal it from you!

Congrats on the new job!

Looks like breakfast was still yummy, even if it wasn't as good as the previous trip's.

I think the cm's enthusiasm for the gc is hillarious!!! Working at WDW, you would think he would have seen at least one come through before yours.

Congrats on the new job! That's fantastic!

Sorry they changed the steak and eggs on you -- the previous incarnation looks much better. I could definitely put away one of those frozen coffee drinks though. Yum!

So funny about the server's excitement over your gift card! :lmao:

That sucks! Building up all of that anticipation for something that you've had before that you just want again, and then all of your hopes smashed! Argh.

I love that gift card! That is just so awesome and still so hilarious that the server fawned over it.

Congrats on the new job! :cool1:

Sorry about the menu change, but that iced coffee looks yummy! Was it sweetened?

What a HUGE bummer on them not having what you had been craving! I know how awful that can be! I also think that is why the dishes at WDW restaurants don't change as often as other restaurants... people expect when they go back years later that the dish they loved will still be there!

We have one dish that we are craving to have when we get there in October. I dare not say what it is though or else it probably won't be there!

The gift card is pretty awesome! I think I would keep reloading it!!

I'm guessing that you left your ID in the pocket of the sweatshirt from watching Wishes and it somehow didn't end up with you the following day?!?!

Hahaha we were both like, "wait, WHAT??" :rotfl:. I agree, the dishes at WDW tend to stay pretty similar. But there are definitely things that I miss (Juan and Only's and Spoodles for sure :sad1:)

Oooh now I want to know!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Oh we definitely kept it! I love it!

You'll see...

That gift card is totally the coolest thing ever!!! Kind of like a Disney VIP thing :cool2:

Bummer about the steak & eggs. DH and I have issues with the frequent/recent menu changes at WDW. Now that R&C has done away with his beloved sweet potato pillow, he refuses to even go there on our upcoming trip. I'm sure we'll run into other dishes at our fav restaurants that are different, too.

Edited to add...Congrats on your new job!!!! :woohoo: I totally thought that in my head when I read your post, then forgot to put it in my reply.

Hahahaha thank you!!! It was really cool to see people's reactions to it!

It's funny how the littlest change to Disney is like a dealbreaker for us! R&C definitely did make some pretty big changes to their menu lately, I noticed. The biggest thing I've noticed, especially at the 1 credit restaurants, is the cut of steak changing in a bunch of dishes.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

:sad1:One Week:sad1:
I can see changing the cut of meat to save a little $ but why everything else??

Hahaha I know, right??? :headache: I guess they wanted to just refresh the dish, but it was MUCH better the original way!

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who invariably leaves something in the room!

Aaaagh...your GFC breakfast. I hate when that kind of thing happens, and I totally feel your disappointment. Sigh.

That gift card is...what's that word I use for all things Disney? Oh, yes, it's MAGICAL!! :rotfl:

Oh, and this wasn't even the only day that I forgot stuff!

It definitely wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we had eagerly anticipated for the entire year before!

Hahaha thanks!!! I really love it, it's still in my wallet, actually! :thumbsup2

Congrats!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

When I read the chapter I thought the same thing, before I got down to your follow-up comment -- "surprising" is an odd way to describe an orange and strawberry juice blend. It probably isn't all that surprising.

Unless you went:
surprised.gif

Hahaha yeah, surprising was just a...let's go with "surprising" word to see on the menu. It was pretty good! An unsurprising mix of orange and strawberry juice!

Ew, bummer.

It stinks when things change, especially first thing in the morning!

:faint:

....And God said, "Let there be light".

Or, to go with the Universe of Energy ride theory, all the way back to the Big Bang!

("the piggy bank?") :rotfl:

You should have told him, "Yes, we're the new models Disney is using on their gift cards now."
smiley_loveshy.gif

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm not sure how well that series would sell!!

Yaaaay! Congrats on the new job! :woohoo:

Oh, that is so disappointing about the steak and eggs, especially since you guys had been looking forward to it. :( I am glad Wingnut got his frozen coffee, though...that is totally what I'd go for!

That personalized gift card is awesome, I had no idea you could do that!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Oh, if they had discontinued the frozen coffee on Wingnut, there would have been such a little cloud of disappointment hanging over his side of the table! Thankfully that was still there!

Thanks!! It's so easy to do, and really not that much more! You can do it on the Disney store online, when you're ordering a gift card they give you the option to add a picture to it! :thumbsup2

Don't you just hate it when you have dreamed of that one perfect meal from trips past and then you go back and they've changed the dish. Makes for one pouty couple. :sad1: At least you were able to eat in the beautiful Grand Floridian and enjoy some early morning time together.

It really does stink when that happens! But the meal was definitely great!

First of all - congrats on the new job. I hope its better than the last one and I wish you much success.

That iced coffee thing looks amazing (and I said that last year too!)

Bummer on the menu change. Disney is turning a profit. Can't they just leave some things alone? Sorry it was not as amazing. That's they way I felt about the tricorner sandwich at LTT. I remember it being bigger and better.

I love that gift card. If I had one of those I would just keep using it over and over again.

Thank you so much!!! :goodvibes

He LOVES that iced coffee. And the one from Kouzzina, both are drinks he loves!

I get that things evolve and change, but why does it have to be the things we like??? :rotfl: That stinks about the sandwich! It seems that a few things have been the victim of shrink rays (I thought I read that about the desserts at Sunshine Seasons too!)

Oh, I definitely kept it! :thumbsup2

YAY for the new job! :yay:

So sorry your meal wasn't as good as you remembered. Although right now I am so hungry that both of those looks SPECTACULAR to me. :P

HAHAHA what a great reaction to a gift card. :goodvibes It is awesome! I might have to look into that myself!

Can't wait to hear where you're off to next! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Hahaha the new version was definitely not bad! Looking over Disney pics when hungry is SO dangerous sometimes! :rotfl:

You definitely should!! It was such a fantastic reaction!

Congrats on the new job! :woohoo:

I'm sorry they changed the steak and eggs, it's so annoying when they change the menus like that! They still look pretty good though, at least in the picture! :thumbsup2

I love that gift card, so cute!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

It's like the smallest change, but it makes ALL the difference! It really wasn't bad, just what we had anticipated!

Thanks!! It was really fun to use!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

I don't drink coffee, but that one gets rave reviews from him!

Ugh, I know! I think I'd be slightly less disappointed if he had told us it had changed 7 months prior, as opposed to 7 days!

It was so funny, he really did start showing it around to other people there!

Yay for your new job !!!! Your Disney gift card was cool. Bummer that you were disappointed in GFC. We had dinner there last September and it was one of our favorite meals. Sooo good.

Why do they change things on the menu anyway? Why fix what isnt broke ???

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

I've only ever been to GFC for breakfast, but their lunches and dinners look great too!

I think if they NEVER changed things, it would get boring. But it stinks when they change the things we love!

It was really ironic that it had literally changed the week before. I've heard the mixed reviews too, I do think it's worth a try! And it's so close to the MK, it's a great way to start a day there!

YES, Wingnut LOVES that frozen coffee. I think you can also get it with caramel or another flavor.

He really did freak out over it! It was so funny! I never expected to cause such a stir!

Fun gift card. :goodvibes
I love that the server had such a good time with it.:laughing:

It really was fun, and it seemed like not many people around Disney had ever seen them before!

Congrats on the new job!!! :dance3:

Bummer about the menu change... :sad2:

And that gift card totally rocks!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Definitely a disappointment, but it was still a good breakfast nonetheless!

Thanks!! It was really different and unique!

Congratulations on the new job!! :thumbsup2

Sorry it wasn't quite the breakfast you were looking for, still sounds pretty good though.
Love the gift card! I totally would have reacted like the waiter. Also, no one can really steal it from you!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

It definitely was still good! Hahaha nope, that card is all ours! It was so funny to see his reaction to it!!

Congrats on the new job!

Looks like breakfast was still yummy, even if it wasn't as good as the previous trip's.

I think the cm's enthusiasm for the gc is hillarious!!! Working at WDW, you would think he would have seen at least one come through before yours.

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

It really was still yummy, but we had gone in with our expectations pretty high, unfortunately!

I really never thought it would be the first one he'd seen!! It was so funny to see his reaction!

Congrats on the new job! That's fantastic!

Sorry they changed the steak and eggs on you -- the previous incarnation looks much better. I could definitely put away one of those frozen coffee drinks though. Yum!

So funny about the server's excitement over your gift card! :lmao:

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

The previous version was MUCH better, but the new one isn't bad either! Those frozen coffees definitely get a high recommendation from Wingnut, he loves them!

Hahaha it was awesome to see his reaction to it!

That sucks! Building up all of that anticipation for something that you've had before that you just want again, and then all of your hopes smashed! Argh.

I love that gift card! That is just so awesome and still so hilarious that the server fawned over it.

Hahahaha maybe it was our fault for literally not reading the menu that morning, and just going in there hoping for the exact same thing!

Thanks!! I love it, and his reaction to it really just made me love it even more!

Congrats on the new job! :cool1:

Sorry about the menu change, but that iced coffee looks yummy! Was it sweetened?

Thank you!!!

Yes, I believe it was!

What??? No pineapple bread at summer camp??? Lame. ;)

I agree, I definitely prefer the vibe of the Poly over the GF. And over the Contemporary as well, if all monorail resorts are up for consideration. Vibe-wise, I think the Poly and the Wilderness Lodge are tied in my mind, but the Poly wins between the two hands-down for all of the transportation options!

Citricos was really nice! I loved the unique plates they had too!

I never actually ended up climbing the hill to see the other view, but I thought our view was pretty great!

I knooow. It's why I hate camping so much now! (jk. I mean, I'm not a camping kind of person, but it's not really the food part! More like how very attached I am to indoor plumbing. :rotfl:) The Poly is an excellent compromise between camping (I very much like the idea of camping) and modern conveniences (hot showers).

Oh no! I considered doing steak'n'eggs (or suggesting it to my boyfriend, who is STILL mourning the loss of his favorite breakfast panini from the Grand Floridian Cafe. It seems like GFloCafe changes menus frequently!) but eventually went with my French toast. I'm glad now - what if it's gone next time?? I'd definitely miss it!

Congrats on the new job!

congrats on the new job AND finally getting to see Wishes! I have to be honest, I'm not a big fan of Wishes...I LOVE Illuminations and Hallowishes...but regular Wishes... eh. We'll probably watch them this year since we're going with a lot of people who haven't been to Disney in years (I'm talking like 10 years or more), but several years ago, we decided to do rides while Wishes was playing and basically walked onto everything. And we actually got to see a bit of it from the top of Splash Mountain which was kind of cool.

Wow, that is SUCH a bummer about your steak & eggs! We are so paranoid about that! One of my BF's favorite meals was the Pub Burger from Rose & Crown. We made it a point to make an ADR there for this upcoming trip and then found out that they took it off the dinner menu! Luckily, I had already changed us to a lunch reservation...and the burger is still on the lunch menu for now, but it has a different name. Nine Dragons used to make this amazing General Tso's chicken...yup...took it off the menu. I'm the kind of person who picks where to eat because of a certain item on the menu that I want to order. And if I get there and it's either no longer being served, or it's changed somehow...I get really....umm....grumpy, we'll say. Like I've reverted to the Terrible Twos stage of life grumpy. If San Angel Inn ever takes the Tostadas de Jaiba off of their menu I fear I will go on an all out rampage. They're THAT good.

OK so Jen gave me the idea to put Illuminations on my phone as a ringtone and I am having so much trouble with it, it should be a crime. Seriously, putting ringtones on your iPhone should NOT be this difficult. I can sync pictures and files and whatever else I want from hundreds of miles away with iCloud, but I can't put a 30 second ringtone on my phone directly through a USB cable. :sad2:

Hahaha I am DEFINITELY not a camper. I'm not really one with nature, so to speak! :rotfl: Wingnut always jokes that camping for me is if room service stops at 11.

It does seem like the Grand Floridian Cafe switches up their menu a bit! I'm sure the French toast will still be there, it seems to be one of their menu fixtures!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Wishes was definitely really nice, but I do still prefer Illuminations! I've never seen HalloWishes, that sounds fun!

I tend to pick restaurants based on dishes too! At least Rose and Crown still has the burger you were going for! I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Tostadas for you! :thumbsup2

Have you tried emailing it to yourself then downloading it? That's what I did (but I don't have an iPhone), and it worked really easily!

I figured it out. Totally my fault...I skipped a very important step in the 30-step process. Now when people call me, my phone plays Reflections of Earth. I am so excited! Too bad no one ever calls me!
