My guess is that it will be replaced next year during the refurbishment but reports are that PVB didn't get any DVD players.

I hope they don't waste money on getting DVD players.... The technology is now out of date.

I for one hope they do. My family likes spending a night or two in and going to the Community Halls and getting a dvd or two.

I would be fine with the them doing away with them and make some available to check out with the DVDs.

I checked into a BWV studio today, just noticed no DVD player (not that I need one). I do have to say the Samsung big screen TV is amazing.

The cost if a highly rated Bly-ray is under $50, under $75 if 3D. So they are a minor expense.

But my point was more why have that antique in there? They replaced the TVs which was certainly a heartier investment. Not that they pay for it, it comes out of the reserves.

BCV is the worst maintained resort. It needed major renovation by 2010 and here we are five years later still waiting for them to make use of the money we give them to keep the resort in good condition.

We now stay here only for the location.

The poly is studios only--no DVD players.

If my memory serves correctly (and I admit that it may not), I thought there were DVD/VCR players in the studios at BCV. Can anyone either confirm that or confirm that my memory's bad?

Check your Notice of Annual Meeting. On the third to last page it has the years of life for various aspects of the resorts. OKW has 1-28 yrs for Interior Refurbishment. VWL has 7-40 yrs. BCV was opened about 2002. So 2010 was only 8 yrs. It took OKW about 17 yrs to get their first full refurbishment and then it was still only about 90%.

I am familiar with the reserve estimates. To maintain a resort property at a high level requires regular refurbishments. Disney is not doing that, at least as it relates to BCV. Well, to be fair, the TVs, clock radios and bedspreads have been updated. The rest is dreary and drab. Even the BC staff admit the condition of the villas is bad and badly in need of refurbishment.

We are at BCV right now and the combo VCR/DVD made me do a double take! :rotfl: For some reason I thought they had switched them when they did the new TVs but nope. The interior of the resort is really just getting to be a bit sad looking now. However no problems and still enjoying our stay.

I don't understand it. BWV had a full rehab in 2009/2010 and another one this year. BWV dues increases have been minimal. Why no love for BCV?
